This is a wonderful place to camp off the grid, i.e. no hookups but with water taps and pit toilets. The campground is relatively small, the little lake is beautiful, and the facilities are immaculately maintained. The camp hosts are very friendly and helpful and even provide firewood. We just discovered Bull Prairie last year but it's already on our list of favorites. Oh, and no rough roads to get there and we love stopping in Heppner on the way.

Hands down one of the best campgrounds. The Hosts, Heather and Jody, are fantastic. They consistently come around to make sure campers have what they need and provide free wood. They keep the bathrooms really clean and nice as well as the entire campground. It’s a great place for families and pets to enjoy the water and a safe place to camp. We will be back many more times.

The camp host were the very best of any camp ground I’ve ever stayed
Toilets were very cleaned and well kept

Amazing camp hosts! Helpful with everything, very friendly and accommodating. Great suggestions on what to see and do. Beautiful spots..so clean! Only thing we’ll do different next year is bring mosquito resistant clothing!

Lovely camp and camp host - offered us info, firewoood. Eniter campsite is neat and clean.

This is one of our favorite places! The campground is quiet and the kids ride bikes all day! The camp host was so sweet; provided activity books, glow sticks and camp fire glitter. The kids are still talking about it.

From Heppner, Oregon: Travel south on Highway 207 for approximately 36 miles. Turn east on Forest Service Road 2039 and follow signs to Bull Prairie Recreational Area.
Bull Prairie Campground is accessible via Highway 207, which is the primary route from Heppner, Oregon.

- For additional information and current road conditions please contact the Recreation Department at the Heppner Ranger District. (541-676-2155)
- Check in with Camp Host upon arrival.
- OHV use is prohibited in the main campground. All off road vehicles must remain on trailer's in main campground. They may be off loaded and loaded in day use area by the boat dock.Dogs must be on a leash at all times.No discharging of firearms or possession of fireworks allowed.Some campsites are available on a first-come, first-served basis.Be bear aware; keep all food out of sight in approved containers or locked inside your vehicle and remove all food from the area after eating.Don't Move Firewood: Please protect Pacific Northwest forests by preventing the spread of invasive species. Firewood can carry insects and diseases that can threaten the health of our western forests. You can make a difference by obtaining and burning your firewood near your camping destination. Visit Dontmovefirewood.org for further information.Camping or otherwise occupying a single location (including leaving camping equipment and/or related supplies) for a period longer than 14 consecutive calendar days within a 30-day period is prohibited. ‘Location’ means the occupied area, the occupied campsite, and the National Forest System lands in the immediate vicinity thereof.Additional vehicles after the first 2 will require an additional $5 fee (per additional vehicle) paid on site.Motorized boating (gas or electric) is prohibited on the lake.Trash service is not available at this site. If you pack it in, please pack it out.
