Campground was quiet and peaceful. Great location with easy access to Crater Lake NP. The site (M017) was large, however, the ground was extremely uneven. The grass was really long too (over a foot high), all of which limited where we could put a tent. We had to put it right up to the fire pit to get a semi-decent flat spot, therefore we were unable to use the fire pit. Nice access to the water but there was a huge algae bloom (obviously not the campgrounds fault but it did impact our stay). Lastly, it would have been nice to have vehicle access to South Shore Pizza from inside the campground, as that’s how it is shown on the map. The entrance was chained off so if you were in a vehicle you had to go all the way around. Would stay again but would definitely choose a different site.

Excellent stay, gorgeous huge site right on the water where we could launch our kayaks, great bathrooms, a walk to ice-cream, bike trails could use better signage, but all in all, a wonderful 3 days! Smoky skies, sometimes - but Wow! were the sunsets gorgeous!

Returned to the same campsite as last year only to find it completely ruined by tree-removal contractors. The area was reduced to a dust bowl, and the contractors left massive piles of dry branches and brush behind. We were able to build large fires every single night for two weeks just by clearing the debris ourselves. Looking around, I noted branches and brush cuttings everywhere, not just our site—a massive wildfire hazard that would cause a fire to spread rapidly through this campground. The nearby bathroom was closed for two days for an automatic flush upgrade, during which the fish cleaning station only had one out of five lights working. The systemic management of these campgrounds is terrible. The Forest Service should be ashamed of how this public land is being maintained.

Site L9 is an excellent waterfront site right on the water with a view of 90% of the lake. Swimming is good but it's pretty rocky near the shore. Site is small, but there is room for 2 medium sized tents. The pull through driveway is large enough for a large RV plus a couple of cars, however you have to navigate the U-turn witch may be difficult for RV's larger than 26'. The large trees in the site photo have been cut down, so there is absolutely no shade. It was 85 every day we were there and it felt very hot. The site next to us had shade and felt 20 deg. cooler. Overall an excellent site, if you can stand the heat.

None of the campsite sites were flat. Showers were clean but only about 2 worked. Restrooms were clean and at an easy access to the campsites.
