Nice, quiet lake with wonderful views and the lodge is a short walk or drive away. Super quiet and beautiful lake. We really enjoyed our 4 days here and plan to return! Loved it! Note there was a lot of algae in the lake (end of July) so swimming was ok but a bit limiting. Staff at the gate could be friendlier. They seem a bit put out to check you in or to answer questions. Kind of an attitude - bummer while we are on our vacation of the summer. :( The nearby lodge is a nice perk. They had boat rentals, good food (not so great service so patience is needed) and a good market. Market has basic camp supplies, beer and ice but not a lot of fresh foods. The only other bummer was our last day there an RV came who ran his generator all day (smell of diesel) and was loud. I guess nothing can be done about that other than "quiet hours" but a bummer on a quiet lake is the sound of the generator. Wish there could be a NO RV or generator area for those that want a quiet day.

Beautiful lake and location of the campground. Water in the lake is surprisingly warm, although there are some weeds and pollen on the surface when there is no wind. Good for swimming, kayaking, boating and all other water sports. Unfortunately some of the restrooms were neglected and dirty. Staff was polite and helpful.
Park authorities should encourage visitors to use the firewood from the park, as there are tens and tens of cut trees lying all around. All you need would be a wedge and ax to chop it up.

Wonderful campground, very bike friendly. Fair spacing between sites, quiet at night. There were no sites open to reserve but we were lucky to obtain first come first serve lake-side sites for 3 nights in July (although we did need to switch sites after the first night). Friendly, helpful staff and clean bathrooms with hot showers.

Nice campsites. Only negative is that the bathrooms closest to our campsite were never cleaned during the entire week we were there.

Diamond Lake was one of the best camping experiences I've had. Our campsite was beautiful and had a great view of the lake. You can even go out to the dock by the boat ramp and see the views of the water and mountains. The showers had hot water running at all times. The recreation area is just a short drive away to the south side of the lake, where there are picnic tables and swimming areas. There are a lot of hiking options. There is also a gas station down the road if you ran out of ice, firewood, etc. Not to mention, Crater Lake is just a few miles away!

Everything was very nice. The only thing I would say could have been better was the cleanliness of our campsite. The fire pit had a bunch of garbage in it and there was a good amount of food wrappers and food derby in the site. The campground has the best showers of any campground I have ever been in though and the sites are well layed out. Staff was very helpful with helping us extend our stay by a night.

Lovely roomy campsite, great view of lake, although I was at an interior site. Loved being able to hike the 12 mile trail around the lake. Rest rooms clean.
