We stayed at Thielson view for 2 nights and it was the best camping experience! Our name was on our reserved campsite and it was easy to find with the map provided. Crater Lake is only a half hour away so we went there for a day to explore. On our way back - we had a delicious meal at the Diamond Lake Resort restaurant - just on the other side of Diamond Lake. Diamond Lake is truly a gem in itself - the clear water was sparkling with the brilliance of 1,000 diamonds at any given time of the day. The sunrise and sunset over Mt. Thielson were breathtaking color shows - the mountain turns a bright shade of salmon pink at dusk - just incredible. The 11 mile loop around the lake is a beautiful scenic walk or bike ride with little elevation change. Bathrooms were stocked with toilet paper and water stations were plentiful and useful for filling nalgenes. Plenty or room for two cars on the parking spur. I have been dreaming of returning since my departure.

My family and I stayed at Thielsen View Campground the week before labor day weekend. We absolutely loved the campground and have stayed at diamond lake many times before, and have always enjoyed it. Between the trails, the fishing, swimming and everything else it's a great time. The only few things that sucked this time was the lake had a pretty good Algae bloom going and the bees were absolutely horrible! The campsite we stayed in had several bee traps that were not really doing anything. It was extremely difficult to even cook without them swarming everything. My kids got stung several times it really sucked. In the long run I would stay here again but I think that something needs to be done about the bee issues in the campground.

Camp host was very helpful and friendly. A few other campers, not so much, but obviously that has to do with visitors and not staff. Area was clean and well-maintained. Love the views!!

The campground is located at a great spot, right on the lake. Overall the amenities were nice, but there was a rather large wasp nest inside one of the restrooms. And prepare to deal with a lot of dust if you visit later on in the summer.

I was able to reserve a tent site on a week day in mid-August just a couple of days before arriving.
