Nice campground. Nice host. Many sites mid week showed reserved but no show. Need more first come first serve sites instead of all reservation.

Well spaced-out sites, good shade cover. Was hard to find good access to the lake for swimming, though. Close to Crater Lake (a plus) and close to the Mt Thielsen trailhead (to hike to the summit/spire).

Thielsen View Campground itself is a decent place, it seems that many sites have views of the mountain. These aren't full hookup sites. As far as the overall experience, my problem was the LOUD neighbors, playing music and yelling until nearly midnight. But I'm not going to judge the campground for that.
My site, B10, had a FANTASTIC view of Mt. Thielsen from the location where I pitched my tent. The site was close to the vault toilets (which didn't stink!) and the drinking water spigot. I even had on and off (usually on) 4G LTE service at the site, though only two bars it beats a lot of places in the region. I will say, I don't have a large tent, and there may be better sites at this campground for those who do have one.
The one downfall of the specific site is the number of mosquitos. It's so close to the water and not the kind of shoreline on which you're going to want to swim. On the other hand, this is a perfect site to pull in a small/light boat, if you wanted to try fishing early in the morning. And the ducks/ducklings were having a feast on the bugs hovering over the water, which was a treat to watch.
Overall, I enjoyed the stay.
