Great sites! Easy lake access and nice and quiet! Plus some of the cleanest vault toilets I’ve seen!

Ivan Oakes Campground offers a peaceful and well-maintained environment with friendly camp hosts and easy access to Lookout Point Reservoir, making it a great choice for nature lovers. Many campers appreciated the cleanliness of facilities, the shaded sites, and the overall quiet atmosphere. However, some visitors noted issues with lake access, site privacy, and the absence of occupied-site markers, which led to some frustration with reservations.

Great campground, not much to it. The reservoir is hard to access and not ideal for swimming or paddleboarding.

This was our second time staying at this campground this year, and unfortunately, our second visit was not a good experience.
We reserved and paid for two campsites—one for us and one for my elderly mom. She stayed in her RV the first night but found it too painful to continue, so since we live nearby, she slept at home and came back each day to visit. We still had the second campsite reserved and paid for during our entire stay.
While we were out fishing one day, another camper moved into our second site. This campground does not provide tags or markers showing that a campsite is occupied, which we’ve seen at most other campgrounds. When we returned after dark, we found an RV set up in our site. We then had to squeeze our boat into our other campsite and disconnect it from the truck so everything would fit—all in the dark with flashlights.
The next morning, the camp host confirmed they don't provide occupied-site tags. I requested a refund for just the one night someone else occupied the site we had paid for, but it was denied without a clear explanation. I was told to look up the refund policy, but I couldn't find anything explaining why this situation didn't qualify.
We won't be returning, even though the campground is convenient for us. With the lake so low, the campsites are now quite a hike from the water, requiring us to take our boat in and out each day. Overall, a very disappointing experience that could have been avoided with a simple occupied-site marker.

We absolutely loved the location. Wish we new that they do not sell fire wood at the campground so u need to buy it before u arrive but other than that its a great campground. Wish they had water access from the campground. We had to drive to the nearest day use area for boat access and kids to play in the water.

We camped at Ivan Oakes Campground on Lookout Point Reservoir and had a great experience overall. The campground was very well maintained, and the camp host was friendly, welcoming, and helpful.
There were a couple of downsides. Some of the pit toilets near the center of the campground had a strong odor. There was also quite a bit of sharp, thorny plant debris outside the established campsites and along the reservoir. It repeatedly became tangled in our dogs’ fur and lodged in their paws, creating a lot of extra work to remove it and keep them comfortable and safe.
Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would return, but anyone camping with dogs should be prepared to check their fur and paws frequently.

Ivan Oaks Campground is a fantastic place if you enjoy a more rustic camping experience. There are no electric or water hookups, but that's a tradeoff I was happy to make because of its outstanding proximity to Lookout Point Lake. It's incredibly convenient to get on the water while still feeling tucked away in nature.
The campground is well established, with beautiful tall fir trees providing plenty of shade and a peaceful atmosphere. The camp hosts were friendly, welcoming, and attentive. They clearly took pride in the campground and did a great job keeping an eye on things while making campers feel welcome.
If you're looking for a quiet, wooded campground with easy access to the lake, Ivan Oaks is hard to beat. I'll definitely be back.

The sites are much closer together than they looked in the photos. There is road noise from the road across the “lake”. The lake is a reservoir and the shoreline is rocks and once tree stumps from the high water line to the water. The path to the only hike in the area runs directly behind site 19, between it and the water. I had to pull trash and cigarette butts out of the fire ring, and push several inches if ash to the edges of the ring to start a fire. As I walked the campground I observed trash in most of the fire rings.
Luckily, I was the only one in the loop on a Sunday night.
This is not a spot I will return to.
