We camped in late June in a site overlooking the river, which was crystal clear and cool-- just right to go swimming. My grandson and I played in the water for well over an hour. Our campsite was set among big, beautiful trees and all sites in that area were clean, well-spaced for social distancing and enough plant growth between for decent privacy. Plenty of firewood for sale and the camp host was great--super friendly and helpful!

This was one of our " guy campouts" in September. We wanted to be near the creek, but not have to climb stairs or walk too far. I was able to reserve space #10 which was a level drive in, even though we had tents. We were close to the creek and also the Restrooms which was perfect for us. We had planned on doing some looking around the area, but it was so comfortable and peaceful where we were that we didn't leave the campground area for 3 days !!. The camp hosts were just in front of us and it was there first day on the job. They had firewood available for us to purchase and we great to chat with on their off time. This campground would be good for people that have children that wanted to explore the creek area. The water was very low and there were a few swimming holes, etc. It is also a close drive to the Little North Santiam and the trail head to the Opal Creek Wilderness area. The other thing that all of us liked is that as the campground info states, almost as soon as you turn off HWY 22, there is not cellphone or internet service !! You would only have a short drive back to a cell service area.
