What Guests Are Saying
Walton Lake is a beloved camping destination known for its beautiful scenery, clean facilities, and friendly camp hosts, Tony and Karen, who provide excellent service. Visitors appreciate the fishing opportunities, wildlife observation, and well-maintained trails around the lake, making it a perfect spot for families and nature lovers. While some faced challenges due to smoke from nearby wildfires and water issues, overall experiences are positive, with many planning to return for future visits.

Always wait to go until after school starts. Recommend to go during the week. Too many loud kids/adults on weekends. This year was bad. Loud!

Thank you Ochoco NF District office for working so hard to get Walton Lake campground reopen after the forest fire.
The Santiam Flycasters based in Salem Oregon had a planned club outing it went splendidly.

Prineville ranger station may not have the most up to date information regarding the campground closure. It is best to visit campground yourself to see if it is open.

Have enjoyed coming to Walton Lake since I was a very young boy. Thought it would be great first trip to take our new to us RV. It did not disappoint! Campground looked great and well taken care of. The camp hosts were very friendly, attentive and active. Fishing was great as well. We will definitely be coming back!

We plan a trip to Walton Lake every summer. Nearby wild fires this year allowed smoke into the campground every day we were there. The campground eventually closed, cutting our stay short.

Such a nice campground, right next to a little lake. Fishing was good, and the trail around the lake was great.
