We LOVE Walton Lake!! The only disappointment was the website said our site would become FF on Friday - Sunday when I reserved, however it was actually a fully readable site. This confused me as well as the Camp Host. It is her experience that the site is always reservable and not FCFS. We would have loved to have stayed longer! I will set my calendar for February to hop on get get a site booked for a week 😉. Our camp hosts were amazing! She did her best to help me try to get a spot for the next day, but we opted out.

We stayed 2 nights at site 30. It’s one of the few sites that has a parking spot next to the campground instead of across the road. We saw lots of different types of water birds, chipmunks, garter snakes and maybe a beaver. It seemed we had just missed the peak time for the wild flowers, which I’m guessing was pretty spectacular. The lake is small and lovely, but we skipped swimming because there was quite a bit of algae floating around. Pit toilets were exceptionally clean and the hosts kind of kept to themselves.

This is my favorite camping destination in all of Oregon, and has been for many years. The campground is beautiful, and surrounds a lake that is good for fishing and, sometimes, swimming. The Camp hosts for the past four years, Karen and Tony, are really good at their job and make us feel welcome and taken care of. I give them the highest rating possible!

Quiet, clean and relaxing. No drinking water when I visited but it appears they are working on that. Definitely a recommended.

Beautiful venue! The tent only spots are quiet with a fantastic view of the lake. The camp hosts are excellent! The hiking opportunities are abundant! Added note: Please leave your remote control boat at home. The ducks, geese, and eagles do not enjoy them. Remember it is their home and we are visitors.

Just the way we like it. No cell service, no electricity and very few people!
