What Guests Are Saying
Loon Lake Recreation Site boasts a beautiful location with well-maintained campsites, clean restrooms, and friendly staff. Many visitors appreciate the organized tent sites and the stunning lake views, making it a popular spot for families. However, some areas, like the playground and reservation policies, could use improvement, and guests miss the availability of running water and showers.

Crowded and shaded. Old site needs to be pruned. Cut the trees!! BLM from the 80’s but that’s ok nice spot overall. Beach was nice!! Swing was great !!

Loved it, so much fun
The lake was a walkable distance from the campgrounds. If planning to bring easy-up, better to drive down, drop off and walk back, or just park down by the lake. If you park up close to the lake its an additional $5 but overflow parking is free!

Payed almost $40 for "half" a campsite (not big enough for me and another couple meeting me) located directly next to the bathrooms. Chose not to stay at all. Pictures and description in order for reservation were misleading.

The staff was nice & the campsite was quiet, steps away from a sand beach. I will definitely be returning!

Campground was clean and well taken care of. Limited access to potable water and no showers were available for campers.

Nice private sites with lots of shade. Clean restrooms. Great beach with soft sand and roped swimming area. Lots of picnic tables. Great for families with young kids. We were there on overcast weekdays and it was not very crowded. Staff was nice and helpful. The down sides were quite a few mosquitoes and motorboats/jet skis are allowed on the lake, so if your into that great, but if you’re not, it can be a bit loud.

Loon lake is beautiful as is the campground. The campground and beach are some of the cleanest we have been to. The staff and camp hosts are very friendly and helpful.
