What Guests Are Saying

Tyee Campground is a well-maintained, beautiful site with clean facilities and friendly camp hosts, making it a pleasant place for families and outdoor activities. The campground offers good access to the Umpqua River, with spacious sites and walking trails, although some areas can be quite noisy due to nearby highway and logging traffic. While most campers enjoyed their stay, concerns were raised about odors from vault toilets and close quarters between campsites.

This is a well maintained campground. Most sites are shady with space for multiple tents as well as an RV. There are trails and stairways down to the river and plenty of room for all campers to play in the water without feeling cramped. The vault toilets are exceptionally clean and they don't smell other than sometimes in the late afternoon/early evening when the breeze shifts slightly and the latrine smell is pretty strong in sites 7, 8 and 9. It's just a 15-minute drive into Elkton or Sutherlin, if you need something from town.

We were in site 8. Every afternoon the odor from the toilets was unbearable. The restrooms were clean as was the whole campground. Beautiful site, helpful host, but the outhouse odors make me give this a 2 star rating.

Somewhat noisy with quite a bit of logging activity towards the coast there were numerous log trucks on the highway across the river starting at 3-4 am but not too loud. Other than that it’s a nice clean campground.

The camping spots were clean and roomy. Nice to be in a small campground. The bathrooms were new, but exceptional smelly. It would be nice to have the pots pumped out more often. We had a campsite down wind from the toilets. Not a pleasant outdoor experience.
