What Guests Are Saying
Tyee Campground is a well-maintained, beautiful site with clean facilities and friendly camp hosts, making it a pleasant place for families and outdoor activities. The campground offers good access to the Umpqua River, with spacious sites and walking trails, although some areas can be quite noisy due to nearby highway and logging traffic. While most campers enjoyed their stay, concerns were raised about odors from vault toilets and close quarters between campsites.

I left a day early after being disappointed by my sight and the campground. The photo of site #10 does not show that one can NOT pull into this site. Two large boulders are blocking one from pulling or backing into the site. I was disappointed to be parked on the road when the next five sites have driveways. This should be indicated in the photo. This site is also the one with the most road noise. The noise is mentioned in other reviews, but it is hard to describe just how loud it is from across the river. I came to enjoy a couple of rare sunny winter days, and no sun reaches this campground, nor this side of the river in general. If you don't fish (as mentioned as a prime reason to camp here), you can't access the river in the winter, and there is little to do at the campground or in the area. Elkton (16 mi away) is a nice town, but there is little open in the winter. There are no hikes in the area. The hosts were very nice, and the campground and vault toilets are clean

Giant, clean sites and great river access. Not a ton of hiking but the path that was there was nice.

Tyee campground is one of our favorite spots to camp. There are trails for walking, fishing and nice campsites.

This was my favorite part of my trip to Oregon. There are steps here that take you down to the river where you can sit on the flat rocks and enjoy the view. It was gorgeous. I was a woman traveling alone and felt safe at this campground surrounded by families and within earshot of other campers. I highly recommend it.

Beautiful campground! We enjoyed the view of the river. The campsite was clean and spacious. There was no cell
Reception for us on Verizon.

We stay here every August as a family gathering place, you can fish, swim, play horseshoes, we play croquet, you can have scavenger hunts, walk the trails. We also float the River. The overall experience is excellent for families. short distance to Sutherlin or Elton and less than an hour from the coast.

We love it there. We've stayed at both the Eagle View and Tyee campgrounds. We love the area and the river. It's so much fun for us and our kids to come and chill out, fish, swim, and roast some s'mores. It's the perfect spot to hang out.

Very helpful and patient camp host! All the info is on the sign, but he took the time to show me, as I couldn't understand why I had to make a reservation if there were so many open sites. It is their process and they provide wifi to gitrdun. Beautiful riverside camping. Prepare to find walking elsewhere...the "trail" didn't seem to go anywhere.
