What Guests Are Saying

Tyee Campground is a well-maintained, beautiful site with clean facilities and friendly camp hosts, making it a pleasant place for families and outdoor activities. The campground offers good access to the Umpqua River, with spacious sites and walking trails, although some areas can be quite noisy due to nearby highway and logging traffic. While most campers enjoyed their stay, concerns were raised about odors from vault toilets and close quarters between campsites.

We had campsite for 3 nights but only ended up staying one night only because it was so hot and my husband is disabled and had a hard time with the heat…But we enjoyed the campground site was clean, bathrooms were cleaned and smelled good considering they are vaulted toilets. We will be back for sure!

Kids had a blast. Easy river access. Very clean sites and restrooms. We will come back! Road noise was a bit loud in the morning, but the campground itself was very peaceful.

A beautiful campground located above the Umpqua River. The campsites are very spacious, private and immaculately kept. The free campfire wood was a real bonus.

We were in site #15. It’s infested with rats. Tons of rats in the trees and all through camp. You can hear them scurrying all night. Tent pad is close to the road (noisey). Tyee is beautiful and the river access is great. The northern loop is small and low traffic. Lot the campground. Not this site.

This a great campground. It is well located, has fantastic river access, a personable host and is well maintained and clean. Its a quiet campground with only one caveat..lots of road noise, primarily trucks.

Although we generally like to stay in campgrounds with hookups and more ammenities, we were pleasantly surprised by Tyee Recreation campground. The sites are layed out very well for optimum privacy and i cannot say enough about how clean and well maintained the campsites and potties were. You can tell the hosts family really cares about the space they live and work in. Bravo! to them!
Unfortunately the access to the river was a challenge. We were on the up-river side access and it appears that the bottom portion of the cement stairs had been shifted significantly by flood waters. This was not a problem for the rest of our group, but I have some mobility issues, so it was difficult. We did see several groups come down and once they saw the condition of the access they chose not to come down to the water. There was another access to the river on the opposite side of the campground and that access was quite steep. Both ways were difficult for me, but not impossible and once I made it down to the river, it was magic! Overall our experience was wonderful and we have already booked 3 of the sites for a large family camp in September. The only other issue that some might have is there is some traffic noise from cars on the access road that our site was located next to, but as it was not a main highway, the noise was not constant.

Spacious campsite. Pit toilets were surprisingly clean and not smelly in the morning. Good access to the river with views from the site.
