We were in site #15. It’s infested with rats. Tons of rats in the trees and all through camp. You can hear them scurrying all night. Tent pad is close to the road (noisey). Tyee is beautiful and the river access is great. The northern loop is small and low traffic. Lot the campground. Not this site.

This a great campground. It is well located, has fantastic river access, a personable host and is well maintained and clean. Its a quiet campground with only one caveat..lots of road noise, primarily trucks.

Although we generally like to stay in campgrounds with hookups and more ammenities, we were pleasantly surprised by Tyee Recreation campground. The sites are layed out very well for optimum privacy and i cannot say enough about how clean and well maintained the campsites and potties were. You can tell the hosts family really cares about the space they live and work in. Bravo! to them!
Unfortunately the access to the river was a challenge. We were on the up-river side access and it appears that the bottom portion of the cement stairs had been shifted significantly by flood waters. This was not a problem for the rest of our group, but I have some mobility issues, so it was difficult. We did see several groups come down and once they saw the condition of the access they chose not to come down to the water. There was another access to the river on the opposite side of the campground and that access was quite steep. Both ways were difficult for me, but not impossible and once I made it down to the river, it was magic! Overall our experience was wonderful and we have already booked 3 of the sites for a large family camp in September. The only other issue that some might have is there is some traffic noise from cars on the access road that our site was located next to, but as it was not a main highway, the noise was not constant.

Clean bathrooms, campsite and grounds, good river access (one of the paths down needs repaired). Very little cell service but we liked that.

Getting There
From I-5 in Sutherlin, head west 12 mi on Highway 138. Turn left and cross over Bullock Bridge and immediately turn right only Country Road 57 (Bullock Road). Travel .5 mi to the campground.

Tyee Campground is accessible via I-5, with a connection to Highway 138 approximately 12 miles from Sutherlin.

- There are 15 individual site at Tyee Campground. All sites will be reservation only until further notice.
- Firewood is currently unavailable for purchase on site.
- There are no hook-ups available at the campsites
- Campground hosts are on-site
- Dogs must be on a 6 foot leash within the campground
- Excessive noise and drunkenness will not be tolerated
