River access is quite treacherous in spots due to what appears to be high-water erosion damage from some years ago. Possibly due to the high water as well, there is quite a bit of garbage in the trees between the campsites and the river. Also, our first day there they had no firewood. We had to go into Roseburg to find firewood for sale.

The campground smelled like rotting carcass. I am not exaggerating. Truly, we looked for something dead in the nearby bushes. It was AWFUL. Additionally, there was a sign that said the toilets were not being cleaned to OR Health standards. Be aware, “should you CHOOSE to use them.” What choice did we have? What did this even mean? What standards were not held, and how might it affect our health? We had no idea, nor real choice. Additionally, there were rats around our campground in the evening and food/garbage dumped over the fence into the shrubs. Absolutely disgusting overall, and I’m glad we only planned to be there for one night.

A beautiful spot with easy river access. Quite, clean sites with nice spacing and a friendly unobtrusive camp host. We will definitely be back.

We first visited in 2020 in our 22' Class B, but Tyee was closed due to CoViD lock down. Traffic along the 138 was almost non-existent. Not so today with many logging and big rig trucks along 138. City dwellers might not notice, but country folks might.
The parking sites are nowhere near level, so you will need extensive leveling capability in an RV or trailer. The sites are rated for 52 feet, but about 15 feet of that is not parking. We had to park our Chevy Spark sideways to fit behind our 32' Class A. Sites 1-10 are on a loop which is difficult to navigate with anything longer than about 25 feet.
Site is well maintained and the staff are friendly and helpful. No mobile service to speak of. OTOH, it's nice to be unreachable.

Shady, clean, close to the river. Quite a bit of highway noise but, not as bad at night. RV sites are pretty level. Minimal blocking. Only complaint- camp host is lazy and unfriendly. Really nice camp.

It’s always a positive experience camping at Tyee. Earl is the best camp host! The bathrooms are always very clean and his friendliness is greatly appreciated.

From I-5 in Sutherlin, head west 12 miles on Highway 138. Turn left and cross over Bullock Bridge and immediately turn right only Country Road 57 (Bullock Road). Travel .5 miles to the campground.
Tyee Campground is accessible via I-5, with a connection to Highway 138 approximately 12 miles from Sutherlin.

- There are 15 individual site at Tyee Campground. All sites will be reservation only until further notice.
- Firewood is currently unavailable for purchase on site.
- There are no hook-ups available at the campsites
- Campground hosts are on-site
- Dogs must be on a 6 foot leash within the campground
- Excessive noise and drunkenness will not be tolerated
