Allen Springs Campground offers a beautiful and peaceful environment alongside the Metolius River, with clean facilities and well-kept sites. Many visitors enjoyed wildlife sightings and the scenic surroundings, making it a favorite camping destination. However, issues such as poor toilet maintenance, a lack of camp hosts, and an ineffective reservation system were noted, which impacted some experiences.

You guys need to do something about the reservation system. Too many people make reservations and don't show up. Apparently they have the money to do this. If someone doesn't show up the first night the spot should come open to all.

Allen Springs is one of if not the nicest sites near Camp Sherman. The Metolius River provides such a calming sense of being. Wish there were camp hosts, but not this trip. Also, folks should be aware there is NO running water so bring your own!!

Somehow I got the best site for one night, on my birthday, and my first solo camping trip! Access to river trail, river view, river sounds, spacious, clean site, easy toilet access, even respectful neighbor, friendly camp host.
Couldn’t have asked for a better experience!

I really like it there and enjoyed it, except for some rude people from another space, from a ways away. Also, someone had shoveled a bunch of dirt into the fire pit, so I made no attempt to use it. They were probably covering up something, a mess.

Beautiful area and great walk-in campsite for renters.

The campground is incredibly beautiful but the maintenance is terrible. The roads are full if potholes, the new maintenance company is not taking care to keep the toilets clean and there is no longer a camp host. DOGE?

The campsite on the Metolius is the most beautiful on this earth. I have been camping there for over 60 years. Unfortunately it is not taken care of like it was in the past. The tables are rotting in place. We have used our campfire wood to brace them in place to keep from injuring ourselves and the fire pits are not cleaned. It’s inexcusable!
