Though we only had time to see the South Falls - it was well worth the visit. Beautiful park facilities , nice parking area - the trails look good. We will be back.

We had the best family trip to Silver Falls State Park, and I can honestly say it’s such a fun, kid-friendly spot.
The park is known for the famous Trail of Ten Falls, and seeing all ten waterfalls in one place feels pretty magical. We chose the South Falls section (there’s both a north and south side), and I’m really glad we did. The South side felt much more manageable for the kids — still adventurous, but not overwhelming.
One thing I’d definitely recommend: wear tennis shoes or hiking shoes. We saw a few people trying to do the trail in flip-flops, and they were struggling once the path started climbing and turned into stairs. Some parts get steep, and good shoes make a big difference. Some hiking shoes or tennis shoes will do well. Make sure they have traction, if you want to do the longer trails.
We stayed in one of the cabins, and they even have handicap-accessible options. Cabin #7 was perfect for us because it’s closest to the bathrooms and showers — which, trust me, matters a lot when someone has to go in the middle of the night and you don’t want to trek through the dark. Also, there are raccoons around, so make sure you lock up your food and anything scented.
We went in June and had an amazing time, but if I did it again, I’d probably choose April or May. The cabin was a little warm at night — not a dealbreaker, just a personal preference.
Overall, it was such a special trip. Waterfalls, fresh air, happy kids — we made the best memories there. 🌲

The hike is super fun to do. It’s got so much to see and it really doesn’t feel as long as it is. It’s really beautiful to go during most seasons, but would definitely wear some good shoes during the winter as there are some huge puddles. A raincoat too because the waterfalls can splash on you. In the summer you’ll see people go into some of the shallow waters and take a quick dip haha! One of my absolute favorite hikes! I’d recommend to go early to avoid crowds:)

Silver Falls State Park is absolutely stunning and such a perfect place to experience the beauty of the Pacific Northwest. There are a variety of trails to choose from—some easier and family-friendly, and others more challenging for experienced hikers. Since we had kids with us, we chose the easier waterfall trail, and it was perfect for our group.

The scenery was breathtaking. The waterfalls, the lush greenery, and the peaceful atmosphere made the whole experience feel magical. We officially fell in love with the Pacific Northwest and all the incredible nature it has to offer.

We visited in late December, bundled up well, and were completely comfortable, so don’t let cooler weather stop you from going. It’s beautiful any time of year. I highly recommend taking the time to see the waterfalls and really soak it all in. It’s a place we’ll definitely want to visit again!

A ranger picked up and answered the phone when I called. If nothing else, that is truly remarkable and very appreciated. The park is very very well maintained. There are Cafes and General stores with roaring fires and yummy treats and beautiful trinkets. The restrooms are real and clean and fully appointed. There's loads of parking. The fee went from $5 to $12 😬. The Trail of Ten Falls continues to be a favorite. Today we went in pouring rain. But with the heavy canopy, it was just like sprinkles here and there. It's always fun to see a new visitors' reaction to walking behind the waterfalls. Special shout out to Natasha and Samantha who have beautiful smiles and welcoming spirits and make every visitor feel at home.
