area has potential, recently destroyed by Pine Beetles. NFS doing the best they can with what they have.

Olive Lake Campground offers a beautiful and peaceful setting with clean facilities and well-maintained grounds. Many visitors enjoy the lake for activities like kayaking, fishing, and swimming, often appreciating the low camper density during mid-week stays. However, some campers noted issues with site suitability for RVs and occasional restroom supply shortages, but overall, many are eager to return for the serene natural experience.

When I looked at pics of the campground - i'm sure they were a few years old . With beetle kill in the trees, we did not have the shade we thought we would have - trees were cut down

As there was no host other people had occupied our sites. One agreed to move while the other did not.

The place was beautiful! Water was warm and the trail around the lake was a great hike. Plenty of fishing, swimming, kayaking, and small wildlife sightings (rabbits, birds, fish, and ground squirrels).
Downsides: Restrooms were caked in flies. All over the campground the trees were cut down, logged, and stacked up all around, so there was hardly any shade in the actual campsite, even though there were stumps everywhere. Some of the campsites were even surrounded on 3 sides by stacks of firewood 5 ft high. No potable water, trash service or camp hosts were inconvenient compared to other national forest campgrounds, but didn’t take away from the good time we had.

Our 3 night stay went well. Sad there was no host. Lots of people playing in and around water a small hazard if wanting to fish. But it was a good stay
