About Tillicum

Tillicum Beach Campground is popular for many reasons, but the number one and most obvious is its location right on the beach. Campers are lulled to sleep by the sound of the ocean waves, then wake to sweeping views of the Pacific. The campground offers an ideal location for whale watching. Most campsites have beachfront views, and sunsets are not to be missed. Fishing, swimming and playing in the sand are the campground's most popular activities.

It was a beautiful campground. Nice and clean and well maintained. And it was quiet.

It was only a great trip because someone cancelled site 26. We got there and space 12 was super muddy, and we had no idea where we'd put our tent. Fortunately the camp host let us know that 26 was open and a great site. It was perfect for our tent and dry. The bad thing was that we had to pay for both sites. When booking online, site 12 seemed to be flat. Only spot for a tent would have been in the mud or up by the road.

Came during a rainy time. May 2022. Apparently one of rainiest years in a long time. Our spot, #55, was in the shade, so we never dried out. The good part about that site was that it was higher on the campground, so it did drain. Many of the sites closer to the beach remained lakes days after the rain stopped. The wonderfully private tent sites closest to the beach would have been uninhabitable. Mud city. The hosts were new to this campground. Could not have been nicer. The bathrooms were cleaned multiple times per day so were never stinky or foul. Beaches were easy to get to for some nice long walks. Power poles were fairly new, water easy to hook up. We had to dump our RV while there. We chose to go south to Carl Washburne State Park. A little far, but easy nonetheless. Biggest criticism: fix the drainage.

This is a fantastic park right on the Pacific. Beautiful beach, can walk for miles with our dogs. Quaint town Yachats just a few miles as are many other great places to visit in easy driving distance up and down the coast. This is our favorite area on the Oregon coast. We had site 42 with E&W with nice view of ocean. If you don't need hook-ups site 17 is the best in the park.

Great place by the beach. Only see/hear ocean if your on the side right next to beach. Other areas are still awesome, just no view of ocean because of the trees.
