Couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Bathrooms were clean and camp hosts were very friendly.

Weather was really bad the day I went and I have an exposed campsite. About 75% of the campsites were empty and available, but the camp host would not let me relocate to a protected site with trees. They claimed the recreation.gov would not allow it and the only way would be to purchase a whole other first come first serve site in addition to the one I already paid for. Was zero help and left hanging. Ended up going down the road to the state park campground that night and they were super helpful and actually right on the beach. Would recommend the state park over this recreation.gov park.

The staff and the campsites could not have been better. However, for those of us who stay more than one day, YOU NEED TO HAVE SHOWERS AVAILABLE!

Can’t get any closer to the beach in this quiet campground. Great for kids and easy access to miles of white sand beaches- we’ll be back!

The campground was beautiful. The camp hosts were cordial and friendly. I had Site 15 and it was a secluded spot with a private little viewing area to see the beach. My daughter and I spotted a few snakes at this site but they scurried into the bushes. Just little garden snakes, didn't look too dangerous or poisonous. There were also a good number of bumblebees buzzing around the bushes which surrounded our site. No stings but just something to "bee" aware of!
The only thing that was disappointing was that I wanted to be able to see the beach from our site. You could with the little private viewing area mentioned above. If you want to see the beach without leaving your tent, I suggest one of the sites to the right or left of #15. No real shade for those sites as they are flat grassy areas but at least they have unobstructed views of the beach/ocean.

Everything was fine there as usual. However, I'm dismayed that invasive English Ivy is establishing at the south end of the campground. It is engulfing the native shrubbery, climbing the trees, and will soon take over a much broader area. I'm all too familiar with non-native invasive plants and truly wish the forest service or campground management would address the issue.
