Very good layout of campsites, not crowded. Great view of intercostal waterway and nature preserve. Bathrooms doors have to remain open for ventilation, so they need to be upgraded. Very natural area, so I mean bugs, lots of bugs, but this was somewhat expected. Was there 2 weeks so seen a good variety of wild life, the pod of dolphins (one day) in the water way was a unexpected bonus. Easy to miss turn off of South Carolina Highway 17, South Carolina roads and signage are poor at best. I have pretty bad pollen allergies, so the first two weeks of May was a little early for me. Closest federal campground I know of to Charleston, but traffic through Mt. Pleasant has gotten so bad, doubt we will return. Overall I would recommend the campground.

The place is great for relaxing and playing games. Was disappointed that the winds were way to high to take our pontoon boat out. Couldn't take kayak out either. Winds were bad except for before 10am or after 6pm. Sites are large. Views of the Big boats were great. Bathrooms look bad. They were newly remodeled when we were there 10 years ago. They haven't held up very well. There were fire ants everywhere.

A quiet, laid back campground. Bathroom are adequate. Spaces are well spread apart. We had a great breeze coming off the water. Loved watching all the boats coming in and out the water way. No planned activities just a large area with some shade to relax and unwind.
