What Guests Are Saying

Cassidy Bridge Primitive Camp offers a private and spacious camping experience, ideal for groups, with clean facilities and bear-proof trash cans. While the lock can be challenging and some areas have storm damage, many visitors appreciated the clean bathroom and the opportunity for fishing in the nearby river. However, noise from traffic and the presence of litter detracted from the overall experience for some campers.

Be prepared for tons of other people fishing the river that borders this campsite. Plus even though this is a huge single hunt campsite do not try to site your guns in or target practice as it is somehow considered WMA managed land and we got a $360 ticket for shooting at a hunt camp. I have been a couple of times now and I always have to pick up trash even though there is receptacles. I won’t go back.

This campground is the best, the gate makes its completely private. We went during the time of year where you have to make a reservation not the first come first serve. The lock was a little aggravating but once you figured it out it’s wasn’t bad. We took our pop up camper but definitely could fit a bigger camper down there. I would say there was about 8 or more places to set up camp so it’s perfect for multiple campers or big groups. There was a small creek that was concrete that you will have to pass and a very sharp curve keep that in mind with bigger campers. The bathroom/outhouse was clean for the most part and had plenty of toilet paper. There was also bear proof trash cans. Only down fall that I could think of was how loud the traffic was crossing the near by bridge, but other than that we will 100% be back if we ever can get a reservation again seems to book up fast.

Such a beautiful area, nice to have it all to ourselves. Water was great for swimming. We did see a snake or two so be careful. Great place to relax. If camping in the summer bring solar or battery powered fans or whatever it gets very humid and hot. We will definitely be coming again, my friends and I loved the area. Such a hidden gem. Water was not as clear as I had hoped but it’s because of sand and silt washing down from the mountain but still very clean and cool. Great for fishing and family get togethers but bring everything you need for primitive camping.

I come here a couple of times a year. It always seems to be clean and well kept. The fishing really slows down in the warmer months, which is to be expected. You also don't see near as many people once school gets back in either. I will once again gripe about the lack of picnic tables here. $38 a night and all you get is a trash can and a pit toilet, which I am perfectly happy about, but any other paying camp site has picnic tables.
