Absolutely loved our site. The only downfall was the skunk encounters. No one got sprayed but we couldn’t go outside at night because they came around our site each night and I didn’t want to take the chance

We stayed on Site 71 in a 40’ Class A. The site was not level either from-to-back or side-to-side, so bring leveling gear. Verizon connectivity was spotty for Internet but we had no problem making and receiving calls or texting from the site. Other than that we enjoyed our stay very much. The site sits on a knoll above the lakeshore, so you can’t view the shoreline from the site but the lake view is unobstructed. We really enjoyed watching the fish leap in the lake in the morning. We did have a couple of skunks wander through the site after sundown once or twice, but if you just keep still they go on about their business. The site is well-shaded. All hookups functioned well; having a FHU waterfront site was a real treat!
The bath houses were generally clean, a little less so on the weekends. The maintenance crews were highly visible and very friendly, we appreciate the hard work that is done to keep Defeated Creek an exceptional COE location.

The campground is very well maintained. The sites are large and beautifully set to enjoy the views. There are plentiful places to walk and hike. The lake was calm and we enjoyed kayaking as well.

Cathy, at the host gate, was very helpful. The park was super nice. We are still learning to navigate the web site, but we will get there. First time camping and had a sewer site, and the was great! We LOVE Defeated Campground.❤️❤️
