What Guests Are Saying
Cages Bend Campground is highly praised for its beautiful location on Old Hickory Lake, well-maintained sites, and friendly, helpful hosts, Tanya and Donnie. Campers appreciate the cleanliness of the facilities, spacious sites, and peaceful atmosphere, making it a favorite among visitors. While some noted the lack of sewer hookups and rocky shorelines for boating, the overall experience is overwhelmingly positive, with many expressing a desire to return.

Beautiful location! We throughly enjoyed our spot by the lake which provided a lot of relaxation. The only drawback was that there was no water pressure in the hose at the dump station which made it virtually impossible to use.

Clean sites, quiet and peaceful campground. My only dislike is the narrow road coming up to the campground. A car actually hit a camper in the curve while we were there. Poor engineering.

The area is beautiful. We were able to get a site by the water on our 2nd stay. There were definitely some issues though. First there were no trashcans at each site like other campsites. This is a very big inconvenience especially when you travel with a pet. We had to provide our own trash can and bags (were given 1 very thin small one when we entered) for a 8 night stay which meant many trips up to the dumpster. The restrooms were not in good shape and in dire need of renovation. Shower areas in the main women's restroom has only one bench outside of the shower stalls so no way for someone to sit down, get dried off and get dresses without being in full view of anyone else entering that area. The handicap shower (only 1 for men & women) was located on the back side with no signage. We only found it because someone else we knew stayed there before and told us where it was. First time I went to use it there was someone inside so I waited for them to come out. When the door opened I was very surprised to see it was a worker who maintains the campsites instead of a handicap person. This happened more than once. They hang out in the parking lot behind the restrooms more than they work in the site areas. The handicap shower room has no ventilation so very hard for someone with breathing problems to be in there for very long. There was an enormous amount of mold all over the shower curtain which is completely unacceptable. Shower curtains are not that expensive and if not kept cleaned then they should replace them. It also begs the question on how well/often they clean. I took pictures of the curtain and was very careful not to touch it while showering. This was hard being a handicap person who already has trouble standing for long periods. There was a bench but it also had mold so not usable. The drain also needed to be cleaned I guess because water kept going past it. All in all nice area but not very handicap friendly.
