About Cages Bend

Cages Bend Campground is located on the shores of Old Hickory Lake, offering campers the opportunity to enjoy activities with a beautiful scenic backdrop. Water recreation is the major attraction for lake-goers, but with white-tailed deer, migratory song birds and waterfowl abundant in the area, birding and wildlife photography is popular as well.

Campsite was great; shaded and level. 2 problems: entrance to park is backward-enter on the left and exit on the right and signage to enter is not large or easy to see, 2 - roads are narrow in the park. Have to be very careful navigating.

For number one the bath houses were 110° with no ventilation. The lake shoreline was so full of debris it was impossible to walk out to launch your kayak. Been camping here for 20 years. The place really seems to be going down. The Corps of Engineers seems to have lost the handle on pristine maintenance or preventive maintenance I love this campground and it really hurts my heart to see it neglected.

Beautiful park. Camping right on the lake. Only spent one night so didn’t spend any time in the area.

Love this campground! Site 42 is right on playground so grandkids loved it. Only drawback was no shade for camper. Bathhouse just across road was very clean and had good water pressure and lots of hot water. Very quiet and peaceful. Will definitely return.
