What Guests Are Saying
Cages Bend Campground is highly praised for its beautiful location on Old Hickory Lake, well-maintained sites, and friendly, helpful hosts, Tanya and Donnie. Campers appreciate the cleanliness of the facilities, spacious sites, and peaceful atmosphere, making it a favorite among visitors. While some noted the lack of sewer hookups and rocky shorelines for boating, the overall experience is overwhelmingly positive, with many expressing a desire to return.

This was our second time here, and we already have a trip booked for Fall. This campground is absolutely on of our favorites. When we arrive for a stay we don't really leave, If one was looking for lunch or dinner recommendations, one our favorite nearby places is Double Dog's . As for our specific site, 16, the site is very large . There is ample room to accommodate larger RV's. The constraint may possibly be the ability to back the RV into the site. The somewhat narrow drive coupled with the site situated directly across from 16 makes it pretty tight. I didn't run into any issues, but I am towing a 33 foot trailer with a short wheel based half ton pickup. When taking into account any shade offered by the awning attached to the RV, this site has shade throughout the day. There are more shaded sites within the campground, but this one was not bad.

A true family experience. Our granddaughters made friends from the start and most of the families are repeat campers. We loved it. Quite and clean.

nice clean level spot. Grandkids met friends and played on the playground most of the time. all campers were very friendly as was the hostess. Only downside is there is not a designative area to swim in.

Don't camp here. We love a lake spot and I kayak a lot We stayed on lot 15, a nice lake spot, but very large rocks at the shore line which made it hard to bring in a boat or board a kayak. Old Hickory Lake is a very shallow lake and has a lot of grass and algae growing which makes it not boater friendly. We stayed 4 nights and had another reservation for July but will not be back. My truck's alternator went out right as we were preparing to leave and by the time we got it replaced and everything loaded to leave it was 25 minutes past check out time. The camp host was very rude and insisted I must be out by 2pm. I tried hard but the timing of the truck repair was not good. I wish he, the host, had been more understanding instead of being upset and rude. Anyway, I would not recommend this campground. A lot of turkey vultures around the campground also... not a pleasant sight! In 20 years of camping I have never left a bad review, but this time I had to do it.
