The park mangers were very nice people and most helpful. Didn’t like the park or the location.

Absolutely terrible experience at this campground. The location is extremely small and super tight so good luck if you have a decent size rig. I booked a full month reservation and left the same day I showed up due to false advertising. Upon arrival my site was almost a foot out of level after being told it’s only a few inches so I did not have means to level that much. Also my 30amp plug in was broken and they still expected me to use it. The entire campground stunk and looked run down due to all the junk everywhere. I requested a refund which was denied even though all the problems I listed. Letting Discover deal with it after disputing the charges. Highly recommend others go to Cumberland Valley RV Ranch or Old Mill RV Park both are amazing spots I’ve been to close by to this one.
(EDIT After Owners Reply)
Im not denying that the park host informed me the spot was not level. I am claiming they told me it was a few inches out of level when in reality the spot is damn near a foot out of level. They told me you have a recording of that phone call which id love for you to release to prove you are lying but you wont. Also not sure how much you've invested into that park over the last 2 months but id recommend your triple that investment or at least make your guests pick up after them selves and keep their sites clean. As other people have commented the entire campground is basically a small gravel parking lot with as many sites as possible cramped together. The biggest concern out of everything was the cracked 30AMP plug in that was missing the plastic protecting the ground slot that I was told i was fine to plug into anyway. In no world should you be suggesting a guest risk their camper by plugging into a broken outlet. That is something that should have been addressed prior to anyone showing up in the first place. As for the refund I recommend anyone booking here use a credit card for their transaction as Discover has already issued me a refund for this amount as they deemed it a fraudulent charge for false advertising.

We’ve been traveling full time for over 2 years and this is the worst campground we have stayed at. Not only do they fraudulently charge our card, but it’s a parking lot with as many sites as they could fit meaning your site is TINY. The whole campground stinks of cigarettes. The office sign says no smoking and yet the owner smokes at the office, contract says no walking through other sites and yet people do it. A woman and her husky were in my window talking to my dog. HELLO PRIVACY? There’s also an extremely aggressive German shepherd that lives here that acts like it wants to kill every breathing thing in site. I have a screenshot of our original invoice showing we PAID for 10 days. We were originally going to stay longer but after seeing the place, we chose to go elsewhere. Because we didn’t stay longer, they charged our card more WITHOUT telling us or asking permission. They never informed us we got a monthly rate for the first 10 days we paid so that’s on them. As I said, I have the original invoice so this will be dealt with as fraud. I would never recommend this campground to anyone.
EDIT seeing as the owners have replied with COMPLETE lies: German shepherd lives on the end closest to the office and road. That’s a fact. Owners NOT ONCE reached out or left voicemails to me. Phone records show that which will be reported on our fraud statement. I told the owners days before that we were checking out on Sunday. Not once did she say we had to check with her before leaving? Never had to do that before so no, there was no “checkout process.” The office says 9-5 and yet the owners aren’t even awake to unlock the office at 9 most days. We left at 7am so how would we have even seen the owners when they were still sleeping.
As stated in the cancellation policy and terms and conditions, there are no refunds if you choose to leave early. We PAID for 10 days and 10 days only. I said we MIGHT be there a couple months. Again, that’s on her for giving us the monthly rate for the first 10 days that were paid for. The policy never says anything about getting charged MORE if you leave early because that wouldn’t make any sense. I specifically asked to only pay for a week before we even arrived.
I never said anyone was smoking inside the office. The male owner was outside the office smoking. I simply said there’s a no smoking sign on the office (it doesn’t say no smoking inside, just says no smoking). He was on the patio of the office so again another lie.
As I said before, the owners haven’t reached out once so this is still fraudulent. As I’m sure they know, a fraudulent charge comes back to effect their business.

Made in the Shade is a fantastic campground with beautiful lake views and the BEST hostess. Miss Penny is incredibly helpful and always smiling. This place has a family feel and is a close knit community. Town is within walking distance and a fun place to visit!

This is the best park with the best park host. I’m really writing this review as a response to the one star review that Spencer left below. It’s all lies. I was there and that’s not how it happened. This person lied getting into the park because she told the park host she had insurance and she didn’t. She even told me other residents that she didn’t have any family and so we all tried helping her out- But according to that review below, she has a daughter. The Made in the Shade owner gave her a refund, tried to put a roof over her head for free, and even offered to keep her items until she figured it out-But she got mad at them when she realized nobody would be paying for her camper because thats what insurance is for. Nothing is wrong with that park and nobody could control those trees falling. It seems to me that karma came knocking for those scam artists.
