WE enjoyed our stay. We had site # 64. Could be a challenge for some rigs. Steep slope down into the site but fairly level if you angle your trailer in. Check the description of the driveway, as some are very steep sites and might require more leveling blocks. Flight path to airport is busy but the noise didn't detract from the peaceful setting. Very easy to get to off the interstate.

The views of the lake are great. We also saw a bald eagle and its nest, a skunk, and a box turtle walk into our site. The restroom placements and paths to them are not ideal. They could use a couple cleared walking paths to the facilities. Prepare to drive, or take long walks, uphill, to the restrooms if you camp at the outer sites. I would also caution against camping there in general as there are many trees that have fallen and still continue to fall do to age and storms. The next day after a mildly windy night, we took a walk and found a tree fallen over in a recently occupied site. The previous residents were blessed to have left when they did. all in all, the campground needs some work.

The sites are very spacious and distanced from one another. We had a lakefront site so I was able to fish whenever I wanted, otherwise, you need to locate an unoccupied site.

The week of camping was nice, the site was clean with good view of the lake. Several other campers allowed their dogs to bark nonstop and never witnessed staff giving them warnings as they drove around on golf cart. Couple nights had squatters come in during the middle of the night and set up camp next to our site. Overall was a pleasant week.

This is our second year to camp at pool knobs with friends. The hosts at the campground are amazing. They are so kind and helpful. The grounds are kept very clean, and we look forward to camping again in the future.

From downtown Nashville, TN, take I-40 east to I-24 east. After 15 miles take exit 66B and turn right onto Sam Ridley Parkway. Turn right onto Highway 41 north, and after about 1.5 miles turn right onto Fergus Road. Make another right onto Jones Mill Road and follow the signs to the campground after 4 miles.
Elevation: 158 feet
4.6 mi drive to downtown Lavergne (about 10 min)
Policies & Rules
General
- Two tents or one tent and one RV are permitted per campsite. Multi-family sites allow double the amount of tents and RVs.
- No designated swimming area or beach is provided at this campground.
- No off-road vehicles permitted.
- Two vehicles allowed per site. Multi-family sites allow four cars per site.
- Skunks frequent the area; store food in approved containers.
- $5 fee per vehicle for guests of campers.
- Firewood quarantines are in effect. Firewood from outside the area is not permitted. Help protect our forests by purchasing or collecting firewood at or near your camping destination and burning it on-site. Click Here for more information.
- Don't Move Firewood: Protect your forests from tree-killing pests by buying your firewood locally and burning it on-site. Visit Dontmovefirewood.org for further information.
- Camping limit is 14 days in any 30-consecutive-day period on J. Percy Priest Lake. This rule applies to all campgrounds combined.
- No drive-thrus on Friday, Saturday & Sunday.
- Wifi is NOT provided at this campground.
- STOP THE SPREAD OF INVASIVE SPECIES. Remove plants, seeds, animals, and mud from boots, gear, pets, and vehicles. Clean your gear before entering and leaving the recreation site. Stay on designated roads and trails, and follow local guidelines for firewood. CLEAN, DRAIN, DRY boats and any other recreational equipment that contacts water.
