Loved the campground and the way it is setup. Lot 59 is a waterfront site set back a bit with a path down to the water. Most sites are pull through, although if you have a large trailer it would be best to back into some of them.

This is a very pretty wooded area. It would have been more enjoyable if it hadn’t been 92 degrees with 80+ % humidity. The gate attendant told us to take one of unoccupied sites 3-6, since our reserved site 2 hadn’t been vacated by the previous camper. She couldn’t have been nicer.

We’ve been camping at Poole Knobs Campground for over 20 years. Most of the electric/water sites are good and fairly level. However some are not, such as 26, 28 and 34. Site 34 is the most UNLEVEL site in the entire campground!! I have reported it several times, but nothing ever gets done. It needs a lot of work and more gravel. This site is so unlevel that you are basically setting up on a “mound”. So when you park your camper and let the steps down, they will be 2 feet off the ground! You will need extra steps. You can see where people have taken bricks from the picnic table area to make extra steps. And you will also need the bricks or extra blocks for your camper legs. And finally, we had to park our camper so close to the trees that we could not let one of our slides all the way out. Our camper is 26 feet, but I would say do not choose site 34 unless you have a very small camper or pop-up. It’s such a shame because it’s a large water site with good boat parking.

Not the best spots for a tent camping you are laying on top of gravel and you stake your tent without having to go buy thicker stakes that you can hammer into the ground

We stayed for one evening and left the next morning. It was quiet, and clean. We didn’t use the restrooms so I can’t comment on their condition, but if they were like the camp area, I imagine they were well kept. Overall, a great stay.

You are close to Nashville and Smyrna. If you want lake access get site on lake. Inside sites have to go thru those sites. Bathroom is on top of hill. Only two ways up for outer sites. Both Dirt and steep.

Of course the sites on the water looked fantastic, but we booked late and took what we could which was site #6. It was still very nice and very woodsy. We have T-Mobile Home Internet and right on the water the 5g signal was strong. But even back in the park, we had decent speeds. It’s very hilly and most of the siges are not flat, so prepare for that. Water and power were great ax were the staff. We didn’t encounter bugs, gnats, or mosquitoes… only fireflies! Walmart is close by with the cheapest gas. We enjoyed our stay.

Not a very good overnight spot. better long-term week. Everything shows its age and lack of maintenance. This park ,60 years old. Stuff wears out. The trees are beautiful. I did see a lightning bug I'm 75 years old LBN I did not use the shower. campsite was level mostly

From downtown Nashville, TN, take I-40 east to I-24 east. After 15 miles take exit 66B and turn right onto Sam Ridley Parkway. Turn right onto Highway 41 north, and after about 1.5 miles turn right onto Fergus Road. Make another right onto Jones Mill Road and follow the signs to the campground after 4 miles.

General
- Two tents or one tent and one RV are permitted per campsite. Multi-family sites allow double the amount of tents and RVs.
- No designated swimming area or beach is provided at this campground.
- No off-road vehicles permitted.
- Two vehicles allowed per site. Multi-family sites allow four cars per site.
- Skunks frequent the area; store food in approved containers.
- $5 fee per vehicle for guests of campers.
- Firewood quarantines are in effect. Firewood from outside the area is not permitted. Help protect our forests by purchasing or collecting firewood at or near your camping destination and burning it on-site. Click Here for more information.
- Don't Move Firewood: Protect your forests from tree-killing pests by buying your firewood locally and burning it on-site. Visit Dontmovefirewood.org for further information.
- Camping limit is 14 days in any 30-consecutive-day period on J. Percy Priest Lake. This rule applies to all campgrounds combined.
- No drive-thrus on Friday, Saturday & Sunday.
- Wifi is NOT provided at this campground.
- STOP THE SPREAD OF INVASIVE SPECIES. Remove plants, seeds, animals, and mud from boots, gear, pets, and vehicles. Clean your gear before entering and leaving the recreation site. Stay on designated roads and trails, and follow local guidelines for firewood. CLEAN, DRAIN, DRY boats and any other recreational equipment that contacts water.
