What Guests Are Saying
Poole Knobs Campground is praised for its beautiful, spacious, and wooded sites, many of which are located by the water, providing great views and access to lake activities. While some campers noted issues with site leveling and maintenance, the overall atmosphere is quiet and relaxing, with friendly staff and clean facilities. Despite a few negative experiences with park attendants and minor inconveniences, many visitors express a strong desire to return and appreciate the campground’s charm.

Bathrooms are about what you expect. Could be a little cleaner, but works for a campsite. The hosts were very kind and helpful. Trash changed frequently.
Our only issue was a barking dog in the site across from us. It was incessant. The owners had the dog in a pin and it yelped, barked and whined constantly while the family sat around. It definitely impacted our experience.
Our site #28 is water front, but I would not say it is suitable for swimming. It is more marshy. If you have a kayak or tube, that would be great to get out in the water. We are not shy normally about the lake (we have a pontoon and often pull up to islands) but we were a little weary about getting in here because it was pretty over grown.
Would definitely stay here again!

Nice drive through site. Very quiet and clean. Our site 41 was leveled and was not on the water, though we could see the lake.
We didn't get on the lake, so unsure how the Fishing was, or the boat ramp. We had to ride around to look for the bathroom/ Shower, though the Map showed the Shower house right behind us. Showers were old and but had good pressure and clean.
We only spent 2 nights on our way to to Arkansas. Great stop off.

Great little spot by the lake. If you plan on being out past sun down, bring something for the mosquito.

Clean and spacious sites. SOME are very pitched with deep ravines along roadside.

We enjoyed our time here and it was a really beautiful place to get away and relax. The lake is beautiful and a nice backdrop. The only problem was our site that we originally booked, when we pulled in, it was basically on a downward slope. The camp hosts were very happy to let us switch to another site. We had a wonderful, relaxing week. Would definitely return again!

Check in time is late there, we came from minnesota and got there earlier, they wouldn't let us in due to "cleaning" even though our site was empty, it was a tuesday, made us leave and said they wouldn't let us in until 1:30pm. So we came back at 1:31pm, and another camper was in our site almost completely set up, they had gone in wrong site, but obviously they had been let in before 1:30. There was no mowing going on in this campground, firepit was not cleaned out. I feel she was just on a power trip but ultimately it caused a lot more hassle for us and the poor people that set up in wrong site.

one of our favorite spots to stop on our way home to Florida. Even if it is a bit out of the way, well worth it!
