Huge, magnificent park with great well-maintained trail system. Camp sites are good-sized, many with shade. 1-2 bars Verizon. One local network of OTA tv. Ranger programs and Visitor Center are informative.
It was disappointing that camp regulations were not monitored and enforced. Vehicles were parked on grass/ natural areas. Both sides of my site had deep ruts caused by vehicles that held rain water for my two week stay. Also many sites had more vehicles than allowed. Not enforcing regulations is degrading the natural habitat of this special area.

Nice campground with random vegetation between sites, has one loop for just tent camping and 3 loops for Rv's and tents with electric and water. Restrooms and showers were kept very clean, you also have a camp store close by.

This was our second time to Bandy creek we live in Oh. We come to see our grandson who lives in TN. Clean restrooms, clean park. The staff were always helpful. Ranger Russ remembered us from our last visit and welcomed us back.

I stayed at tent site A38……it’s in the farthest loop and you only have one neighbor and woods on all the other sides. Super easy walk to the bathhouse, which is super clean with super hot water in the shower! I went midweek…..there were only 2 others in loop A. Fireflies at night, lots of stars and location is superb if you wanna explore BSF. Mtn bike/hiking trails all within steps of the grounds. It’s a steal at $20 a night for no electricity tent sites. Will definitely be back!

Site was roomy. Electric, water, bear proof box for food storage, and limited cell/internet service on this site with TMobile. Was able to make a phone call and slowly browse internet to plan our day. No designated tent pad on this site, so we were able to set up our tent & site how we wanted. The picnic table was also able to be moved. The site was wooded/shaded and semi private from other sites. Site had a trash dumpster nearby and was across from showerhouse, which was clean. There was also a outdoor sink to wash dishes, water bottle filling station. Be aware that snakes do hang around the outside of showerhouses at night. We saw a large snake on the railing at D section showerhouse one evening. We enjoyed this site and would stay here again. Seemed like there were several "great" sites at this campground, with good availability to book just a few weeks out. Pool looked nice and well maintained. Theres not much to do around the Bandy Creek area of BSF without long drives.

Bandy Creek is a beautiful campground. Large sites and well spaced. Bath houses are kept clean and updated. The area has some beautiful hiking trails and even some stone arches to visit. We go there as much as we can. There is plenty of history in the surrounding towns.

Very nice Park our site was very private. The Rangers were very informative about hikes and things to do in the park. Make sure you bring bug spray.

Bandy Creek has an area just for tenters. Rest rooms were kept clean and well stocked. The best item this camp ground offers tent people is a stainless steel sink ,counter and plenty of hot water to keep you from dish washing in the site! Quick and easy and always clean! Shower were really great after a day on the go! We will definitely be back!

Bandy Creek Campground is accessible via US Highway 27, which is approximately 12 miles to the west. The campground is also within reach of Interstate 75, located roughly 25 miles to the east.

Arrival & departure
- Travelers should exercise caution on Highway 297 due to steep grades and curves; an alternate route is recommended for those uncomfortable with these conditions.

- To prevent wildlife encounters, secure all food and scented items properly and maintain a clean campsite.

- Horse stall reservations are required and can be made by phone or online; they are separate from campground reservations.

- Caution is advised when camping in this area due to potential falling branches.

- Fishing in the main river requires a valid Tennessee or Kentucky fishing license.
