We really enjoy Floating Mill. We camp there multiple times a year, every year. I wish they would fix the dock and offer some kind of septic pumping. The views are great.

It was a very easy to maneuver site with all accommodations needed and very clean and quiet. The sunsets were absolutely beautiful and every one was very kind

Be ready for a tight squeeze into most RV/camper sites at Floating Mill. Not sure what constitutes an RV site here, but many RV’s can fit into the “standard” sites with water and 50amp. Many sites can a fit larger of a camper, but you don’t know until you go. Boats are a big problem here due to the lack of parking. With the water at summer pool, the boat ramp slope is too shallow to launch most boats. We launched our 21ft fiberglass ski boat by the deeper gravel to the left side of the ramp so it was deep enough to float the boat off the trailer. Courtesy dock to walk out to get on the boat was broken, so someone was swimming out to get onboard the boat after parking. With the challenges with boat/trailer, we opted to reserve a second site next to us to park our boat and tow vehicle. They allow parking below the playground for overflow and boat trailers. Good luck keeping a spot there as within 5 minutes of pulling out, someone will take the spot or block you in. The only other parking is around tent site 70, which would make a 1/4 mile walk for someone launching at the campground ramp. The day use has a better boat ramp you can launch at, but you pay $5 if you want to park at the day use. No charge if you launch, trailer back and can park at your campsite. I was told no overnight parking at day use area but that isn’t listed.

We LOVE it here! The boat loading ramp (??) was not in the water, so getting onto boats was hard and some of our friends were not able to go boating, which was sad. Also the swim area seemed to have come loose so it wasn't its normal shape and the measuring pipes were in the middle of the "swimming area" in some places.

From I-40, take exit 273. Merge onto US-56 south and continue for 3.5 miles to Floating Mill Road. After about a mile, turn right to stay on Floating Mill Road, and follow signs into the campground.

Policies & Rules
Cancellation policy
- Reservation fees are non-refundable. For campsites, cabins, lookouts, yurts, group sites, and similar stays, we charge a reservation service fee of $8.
- Standard cancellations usually have a $10 cancellation fee. Customers can generally cancel before the check-in date online.
- Late cancellation rules differ by stay type.
- Individual campsites: cancelling after 12:00am local time the day before arrival usually means a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first night's fee.
- Cabins, lookouts, and yurts: cancelling less than 14 days before arrival usually means a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first night's fee.
- One-night reservations: a late cancellation usually forfeits the full amount paid, up to the total original reservation cost.
- Modifications are allowed before the cut-off window, but fees depend on the change. Changing to dates completely outside the original reservation dates may trigger a $10 change fee. Extending or shortening a stay that still includes original dates usually has no change fee, though refunds may depend on timing and facility rules. Switching to the same type of campsite for the same dates usually has no change fee, but price differences are charged or refunded.
- Early departures may or may not be refunded. At certain facilities, partial refunds may be possible if staff can mark the site available for other visitors. No refund is given for a night if the early departure is requested after that day's check-out time.
- Security deposits are separate. Security deposits may be refunded to the original payment method if the facility is left in acceptable condition, as determined by the property.
Site types & loops
- Sites 60-77 and 81-98 are designated for tents only and require steps for access.
Site capacity
- Each site permits two tents on pads and one wheeled camping unit.
Pets
- Pets are not allowed in the day-use area, beach area, or restrooms.
Safety & rules
- Alcohol is not allowed on the premises.
- Campers must clean up trash and extinguish fires before leaving; failure to do so may result in citations.
Local regulations
- Church services occur every Sunday at 9 a.m. from Memorial Day weekend until the end of the season.
Fires & fuel
- Only heat-treated firewood is allowed; non-certified types are prohibited.
Fees & deposits
- Only credit card payments are accepted.
Vehicles & parking
- Camping equipment must remain on designated sites; parking in non-designated areas can lead to citations or towing.
- Only licensed vehicles are allowed; two are included per campsite with a $3 fee for additional vehicles.
