Normally we love Ragland but this was our first time I just didn’t enjoy it! When we arrived the site was not clean. Tommy toes & tangerine peels were all under the picnic table covered with ants! There were little pieces of trash scattered all around & the fire pit stunk to high heaven! It looked as though someone had poured something in it. We didn’t really enjoy looking out on the water because of all the dead trees that had fallen & left & the grass was grown high all around them. The host was nice when we checked in.

Ragland Bottom is not being kept in good shape. All the wood railings are getting dangerously in bad shape. Rotting wood, wood railings falling over. Have to wade through knee high grass & climb over fallen trees to get to the water from campsites by the lake. Half the lights don’t work at the bath houses and if you complain to the Hosts, they just say, oh well, there is nothing I can do about it. The Core of Engineers own it & they won’t do anything about it. Breaks my heart to see it going down. Used to be a great place to camp, not anymore. 😢
