Dennis Cove Campground is praised for its beautiful scenery, well-maintained campsites, and friendly camp host, Dale, who enhances the overall experience with his knowledge and hospitality. Campers appreciate the peaceful and secluded atmosphere, ideal for unplugging and enjoying nature, with easy access to hiking trails and a lovely creek. I want to give a shout out to the camp host because he does an excellent job keeping the campground clean!
This campground was small and quaint. We stayed in site 15 and loved how it sat against the woods.
I plan to come back for sure. The only downside was the construction going on beside the campsite. Upon arrival, the crew worked till 7 pm Friday night and left a loud generator running until 11 pm Saturday night. Some may not be bothered by the noise, however, when I'm camping, I prefer to hear the sounds of nature. Other than that, it was great. :)

We stayed there the last weekend of the season. The bathrooms were not that clean but may have been because it was the last weekend.

Smaller campground, clean bathrooms and tidy sites, with a truly great host who is very friendly and knowledgeable about the area. Told him that I was hiking alone, my route and expected time back in, and he kept an eye open for my return.
Beautiful area for hiking - easy to link up with the AT near the top of the mountain , or hike back down along the river (be prepared for some wet and lively crossings). Worth it for the many beautiful waterfalls. Reportedly excellent for trout fishing.
No cell phone service (Verizon) at the campground, so download any maps, audiobooks, etc., you may want beforehand. Be prepared for a temp drop from the town at the foot to the campsite of 10-15degF.
Highly recommended and well worth a second visit!
