This is a very nice campground for its location. Our specific site was tricky for leveling (and we’re only in a truck camper). The toilets were fine and kept clean, the dishwashing area was ok but tiny. Generators were used prolifically by our neighbors, but were turned off during actual quiet hours. We loved the nearby trails, and the wildlife (tons of javelina and some huge coyotes) walking through the campground itself. The campground with full hookups looked terrible in comparison; it’s just a tiny parking lot, essentially.

Arrived to find out that our RV would not fit under tree branches at Site 41, no matter how hard we tried. Host Brian was especially helpful in finding a more suitable site.

Rio Grande Village is a very nice campground. The only issue I have is that, although we had a site in the non-generator section, we were right next to several generator sites. The non-generator sites aren’t in their own section, they are arranged in a loop outside of the generator loop, so you are next to them. Very noisy if it’s hot because they need to run generators for air conditioning.

A great campground in one of the most remote areas in the US. There is a fabulous trail off the campground which takes you up to a lookout view of the Rio Grande. There is a small Mexican town nearby where you can take a "ferry" (flat bottom fishing boat) across the river to visit. It's all legal and operates for the US citizens wanting to visit the town. The campground is nicely kept but be careful when selecting your site, especially on the non-generator side. Look at the photos so that you choose a site which will be adequate for the height of your rig. Those tree limbs are not flexible. The only downside is that the laundry facility is very meager (two small washers and two dryers) and the showers cost $2 for every 5 minutes and take about 3 minutes before any hot water starts flowing. Just go ahead and put $6 in before you get in the shower. The bathrooms could have been a lot cleaner.

Nice sites. Be aware irrigation may flood part of your site for a day or two. Nice convenience store. Pay showers $2 for 5 minutes. So much to do and explore in this park.

Park is excellent, location is great, so close to the river and the mountains. Good infrastructure, drinking water available and clean bathrooms. Store offers basic food and drinks including camping supplies, food, RV parts, gas and propane. Paid laundry facilities and shower, and free wifi internet are a plus since most of the park is cell signal dead.
