Take this place off your radar!50 miles from 10 freeway. Terrible roads leading to it, unavoidable tree limbs scratched our rig. It's so dry there, the trees at the campground are breaking and falling down. The roads in the campground need serious attention! Best thing there is the quiet and star gazing. There is nothing around for miles. Medina Lake is DRIED Up! Stay somewhere in Kerrville instead!

Pros: Quiet
Cute rabbits, but watch out for deer. They are literally everywhere.

Cons: The roads are extremely neglected - potholes everywhere and some deep rivulets in the dirt, with patches of asphalt, near the pool area. The rest of the roads in the park are full of potholes. You also need to watch out for tree branches that are encroaching on the roadway.

Maintenance: Wow, where to start? We were here 6 days and never saw ANY maintenance being done. There were so many sites that had weeds and dead grass all over them. Some of the grass was taller than the dilapidated picnic tables. No one could take 10 min with a weed eater and clean up a site? A lot of sites also had tree branches and/or bushes that would impede you trying to put out your slides.

We took a look at the first site they assigned to us and went right back to the office and told them no. It was so grown over that I don't think our rig would have fit with the slides in! The manager's response? "Yeah, I didn't think you would fit in that one." Then why in the world would you assign it to us in the first place?

We finally drove around and found a site with no trees near the dry lake. It's only redeeming quality was that it was quiet. The gravel was basically nonexistent and we were "boondocking" with water and electric. We were not happy since we were told we would get a full hook up site and were looking forward to that.

I did look at the bathrooms, which did have showers. I could not tell if they were clean or not since the lighting was pretty dim, or even when they were last serviced. Considering the state of the park, we never used them. We never used the laundry for the same reason.

Cell Service was practically nonexistent. We used Starlink.

This was, by far, one of the worst Thousand Trails we have ever stayed at. We had a couple of items that broke on our rig due to potholes in the road we couldn't get around. Thousand Trails should be ashamed and needs to clean up their act on this one. It's a disgrace. We will never stay here again.

Management is holding this beautiful park back

Pros: Beautiful setting, plenty of wildlife, lots of potential.
Cons: Giant potholes, tight spaces, and non-existent communication.
We went days without water or showers due to a freeze, but the staff never bothered to notify guests or give updates. To top it off, the office staff lied about a package delivery, causing me to drive 40 minutes away for something they had the whole time. When I finally got it, there was no apology. We usually make the best of things, but the poor management made it impossible to enjoy the stay. Would not recommend until they hire more (and better) staff.

Let me start by saying I would not recommend this place. There are some RV parks where people go to die, and in my opinion, this is one of them. There is no lake. It dried up years ago, which I already knew, but in case there are folks out there duped by the name and description on the website, know that. This could be and probably was at one time, a really nice campground. They have a mini golf course, activity center with pool, shuffleboard, games, a TV, etc but none of it is being cared for. They have clearly stopped putting money into it. There is hardly any staff, so when a water pipe burst and the office was closed, we didn't know how to reach anyone. They fixed it the following day. Another pipe burst the day before we left, same issue. So there was water spewing all day, overnight, and was still broken when we left. They charge $5.00 per package if you order something online, which I think is ridiculous. They didn't communicate that to us. We had to find it out when we ordered something for our trailer. The laundry room is smelly, the bathhouse reeks with a musty smell, there is no hot water in the showers, and the toilets in the activity center do not flush. The only reason I gave it 2 stars instead of 1 is because they have some nice trails, the dried up lake is kind of cool to walk around in, and there are many deer that will come right up and eat from your hand. The road in is very twisty so use caution. And know that there are very few stores or restaurants nearby. There is a small country store that is really expensive. Do yourself a favor and go to the DG market which is actually a really nice Dollar General with reasonable prices. San Antonio is about an hour drive away.

This place is a dump and a ghost town. I’ve been traveling for 6 months FT in my RV and got the TT membership. Most of the parks are older and some are run down. So far I haven’t been impressed but this place takes the cake for the worst so far.
Campsites are overgrown, potholes everywhere, hot tub is dark and cloudy. Since we had no sewer at our site, we used the shower at the pool. It was so gross🤮!!
Mold in the shower and on the curtains, balls of hair on the floor. And the shower leaked through the exterior wall to the outside of the building. And yet their maintenance sheet shows they are ‘cleaning’ the bathroom every couple of days.
There’s no point in having the pool still open in November when it’s not heated and there’s no one here. The place looks like it hasn’t been maintained in years. Per the staff, the lake dried up 7 years ago and the propane tank has not functioned in years either. Staff are nice but don’t seem to care much anymore. I was told to go pick my own spot in a section but they had no sewer. They said they have a honey wagon that can come to my spot so I agreed. The next day they never showed up so I called and they said it was down, they don’t know what’s wrong and they don’t know when it’ll be back up. They do have a dump station so I guess I’ll go on my way out.
The only saving grace here is the wildlife and the sunset views. They really just need to close.
Go online and see the pics from 10 years ago and then show up to and overgrown, rundown ghost town. False advertising at its best
