What Guests Are Saying
Rocky Creek Park at Lake Somerville is a well-maintained campground featuring beautiful lake views from every site, spacious areas for camping, and a peaceful environment perfect for relaxation. The staff is friendly and the facilities, including the RV dump station, are well-kept, making it a great destination for nature lovers. While some visitors noted issues with the cleanliness of the bathrooms and the presence of sticker burrs, the overall experience is highly positive, with many guests eager to return.

We were at camp site 76. It was a beautiful view of the lake, however we had so many problems staying here. there were 3 active yellow jacket nests under the picnic table. The grass field we brought frisbee and volleyball for was up to our knees during peak snake season. We walked down to the lake to find numerous dead fish with strong odor. Someone playing their music loud past 10:30 and nothing was done about it. To top it off, the campsite has no phone line. We invited 4 other camp families to camp near us and it was a let down after we had talked this place up. Will not be coming back.

Our favorite site is in the first loop in the park. There are very few sites here so it is not crowded. Each site has a covered table area, fire-pit and lantern hook. The restroom is not far away. There are no full hookup sites in this loop. There is a nice walking trail that wanders through the park. Unfortunately the park has shut down several areas and they are being overtaken by nature. The park hosts follow check-in and check out times so don't arrive early or you will have to wait to get in.

Such a great quiet park! If you like the relaxed and quiet atmosphere this is it! Being able to pull the boat up close to the campsite is awesome and the friendly staff is also a plus.

Very nice campground with nice showers. Plenty of lake access and nice size sites. There are some nice geocaches close by and driving over to Independence, TX is worth the drive for historical tour.

Was approached about speeding on 3 separate occasions despite only driving the speed limit. If it is desired for drivers to go slower, the speed limit signs should be changed to reflect this desire.
