What Guests Are Saying
Rocky Creek Park at Lake Somerville is a well-maintained campground featuring beautiful lake views from every site, spacious areas for camping, and a peaceful environment perfect for relaxation. The staff is friendly and the facilities, including the RV dump station, are well-kept, making it a great destination for nature lovers. While some visitors noted issues with the cleanliness of the bathrooms and the presence of sticker burrs, the overall experience is highly positive, with many guests eager to return.

This was our first visit to Rocky Creek and we were not disappointed. We were on site 53, right on the water and with white sand (?) beach that was easy to walk and explore. Most sections of the park were empty and there were only a few campers in our section, so it was a very quiet and relaxing stay. There are 5+ miles of trails to walk/run around the park. Sites are spacious and most are fairly level with picnic tables and fire rings (although there is a burn ban presently). Wind off the lake can be high, so watch your awnings!

This is a nice place, the sites were long and pretty level. There is quite a bit of space between the spots. The only drawback would be if you have dogs there a lot of grass burrs, seemed like everywhere we walked our dogs got the stuck in their feet.

We were on site 44 with a beautiful view of the water and a level lot. Hosts were great. Argentine ants poured into our camper until we bought spray and sprayed all possible ways into the camper, hose, tires, stairs etc.

Great site & perfect sunrise views! Nice beach area & shallow enough to chill or for small kiddos. Bathrooms & showers not too far.

We love Rocky Creek, however the grass burrs are very bad. Normally we can navigate our pets around them, but this last trip they seemed to be everywhere

Pro: most of the sites are quite large with lake views. Reasonably good roads throughout the park.
Con: These are the absolute nastiest bathrooms we’ve come across in COE parks. In the 5 days we were there, the only bathroom maintenance was adding toilet paper. Garbage was never emptied, sinks and toilets not cleaned and spider webs everywhere. With 8 camp hosts, you would think at least one of them could at minimum take care of the spider webs.
With regards to sticker burrs and ants, I tend to think that’s because it’s been so dry and not much the park can do about that.

All the wonderful years, this one was disappointing.

Sites are becoming over grown and stickers out of control!
