The campsite was very nice. The camp host greeted us shortly after our arrival and made sure to inform us about a bear that had been seen in the vicinity of our camp site. We never saw the bear but the host was able to show us pictures of him. He reminded us to store our food properly and be responsible about food waste. We had many deer visit our campsite during our stay which was entertaining, especially the fawns. The outhouses were located throughout the campground and were serviced as we were leaving, which was a good thing. The folks at Moon Lake Resort were very nice. We rented a fishing boat for half day and caught fish. They had Farr's ice cream cones which made for a wonderful after dinner treat. We had a nice time camping there and can't wait until the water system gets repaired.

Everything was great except the porta potties were overflowing. It was disgusting. Also people did not follow the dog leash policy including the camp host and his dog. It rained a lot but we still enjoyed our time. Please be more diligent on the toilets and dogs.

The map shows water spickets available, but there is no water available and found out the haven't had water for over two years. Just make sure to fill you water prior to going up to moon lake.

We loved the campground. The Moon Lake Lodge is within walking distance. They have great supplies, friendly staff, and boat rentals. The lake is just a short walk and is stalked with several species of fish. Excellent hiking trails right from the campground. We were there in September and no bugs this year which is very unusual for this area. No Cell service which is a great thing while camping. There is no potable water at this time.

There were three of us on a week long fly fishing trip. We camped in spot L-32-DBL. It was a really nice spot and the tent pad was plenty big enough for us to set-up two tents. Paved parking area was spacious and had two picnic tables. Not far from the bathrooms (thru a trail) but they were locked and had to use porta-toilets due to repairs being made. We had mule deer walk directly through our campsite on both days and feed in the small field behind our campsite...they were very up close & personal. The star gazing at night was phenomenal!! Great overall experience.

From Duchesne, Utah, take State Hwy 87 north to Mountain Home, then north 12 mi to the Forest Boundary and Forest Road 131. The campground is about 36 mi from Duchesne on paved roads although some spots have pot-holes.
