Greens Lake

Great little campground. Good space between sites.

Map of campsite is not accurate. Shows site 9 as on the water, it is on the interior side of the loop. Lake is pretty, but not ideal for recreating on.

Beautiful campground. Well spaced out sites. Clean. Lots of trees and open meadows.

We have been here many times and we had a great time.....however the outhouse was really really gross........like it hadn't been cleaned all summer. In the group campsite there were times we couldn't breathe because of the stench. We finally ended up buying some bleach to kill the odor. It helped a lot.......but the biggest issue that we were not told before coming, is that the water was shut off. That was SO inconvenient. We knew there was water there, so that is how we planned when packing. It was Very, Very inconvenient not to have water. Had we been warned ahead of time that the water was shut off, we could have brought more 5 gallon containers........and more bottled water. It was a huge pain! Other than that, Green's Lake is a nice place to go.....

The lake itself is full of leeches, apparently, so don’t hop in for a swim. The lodge is nearby and we did eat a meal there which was basically cafeteria food, but I didn’t have to do the dishes so it felt pretty nice after 10 days camping. There were some good trees for setting up the hammock, but some sites were pretty out in the open and got a lot of sun. Overall, a good experience. Clean bathrooms, well-kept site with good distance between neighbors.

We stayed at #009. On the map, this looked like it was going to be right near the lake. In reality, this site is in the inner loop - the map is 100% wrong about the location of site #009!! That is really unfortunate. Only sites sites #7 & #8 are near the water - just FYI. That said, we had some shade, which was needed as the sun is very intense. The bathrooms were clean. The camp host was nice enough and kept things mostly tidy. Our site was rocky, so pitching out tent was a challenge. By far the best thing about Greens Lake campground it its proximity to Red Canyon Lodge and Greens Lake. The walk to the lake is gorgeous!!! About 200 yards. We rented paddleboards from the Red Canyon Lodge and really enjoyed our days.

Somebody else was in our reserved campsite when we arrived. Apparently, when those people arrived- somebody else was in their spot so the host gave them our spot. This happened to all guests with reservations, basically, the hosts treated the entire campground as first come, first served and as a result, reserved spots were freely given to others. The campground became a “free-for-all” and ruined plans for family reunions, long-planned trips, etc. the issues seemed to be because of a campground host who didn’t know or care what he was doing.

Good day all, the overall experience at Greens Lake campground was pretty good, just a few bumps. The reservation map on line does not match up with the actual site locations (campground has been renumbered) we arrived late the first evening of our stay and our reserved spot was taken. We were able to work with the campground manager and get things settled to everyone's satisfaction.
it was a good week we had there.

The Camp Host was absolutely terrible!! He didn’t put any reserved signs up on any spot and told people it was all first come first serve. We reserved a spot specifically for a large trailer and had issues with other campers not moving because the camp host told them it was theirs. When questioned about it, the host simply shrugged his shoulders. We had to use another spot….which every other camper in the campground did as well. It was a mess, and he did nothing to help the campers get in their spots m my making the stay a stressful experience.

this campground is always beautiful and we love that it’s close to a restaurant and gift shop. We do a family reunion here every few years but this is the first year we’ve had a problem with the camp host. he didn’t put any reserved signs up so even though we had reserved a camp spot six months prior he was doing a first come first serve for all the spots and if you showed up with your reservation he would either find you another spot or give the person in your spot two hours to move. It caused a lot of chaos. Luckily our spot was empty when we got there and I went around and hung notecards showing reserved dates on the four spots that my cousins had reserved months prior so they were still available when they got there. He never asked to see our reservations for myself or any of my cousins. He never cleaned the bathrooms they had no toilet paper and the door was hanging off the men’s side. He was fired three days into our stay so luckily he’s gone now. We never saw the new camp host but the bathroom door was fixed and there was toilet paper in the outhouses. We’re hoping next time we come it’ll be a better experience with less stress.
