What Guests Are Saying
Barker Recreation Area is a well-kept and beautiful campground, praised for its peaceful atmosphere, friendly hosts, and scenic surroundings with deer and hiking trails. While some visitors experienced noise issues and had difficulty with information access, the cleanliness of the facilities and the overall experience were highly appreciated. Mosquitoes were noted as a concern, so visitors should come prepared with bug spray.

This was a beautiful place to camp. We had 17 people and had plenty of space to spread out and enjoy the area. The lakes were great and the fishing was good. Will definitely return.

Such a beautiful campground. Lots of trails near by and just listening to the birds and breeze through the trees was magical. Plus got to see some deer.

Great campground. It would be helpful if the visitor center and rangers were connected. It was hard to find out information about FR149 until we luckily ran into a ranger outside the center who was off duty but had very recently driven the road.
The campground is lovely and well kept.

It takes a while to make it up the gravel road in a little passenger car, but it is absolutely worth it! The CG is beautiful. We camped under aspen trees and were surrounded by mule deer . Bathrooms were clean. The host was welcoming and friendly—we felt safe and appreciated knowing he was there if we needed anything. We hiked as many trails as we could while we were up there and thoroughly enjoyed the views. We will return!
