We were treated to a "Dark Skies" experience - new moon, Milky Way, meteor shower. And two moose visited our campsite! Wonderful friendly campground host. Although roads are narrow and need some work (curbs of our site were a trip hazard) and the restroom nearest us needed some work, our site was perfect for our large tent.

This is one of our favorite camping spots. It’s a quiet, lovely place with easy access to to both Logan side and Bear Lake side of the canyon providing many options for things to do. The bathrooms are kept clean and there is lots of room in the campsites.

Beautiful campground and a great location close to Bear Lake. Camp host Bill was great and very helpful. There was a quite a bit of highway noice but not to the point of affecting the camping experience. Unfortunately, the weather did not cooperate so I ended up leaving a day early, nobody could have help that!

The best campground we have stayed at! We camp a lot, and this was the quietest and cleanest. The site was amazing because it backed up to the most beautiful view. We can’t wait to go again!

Wonderful campground! Lots of trees around to make you feel secluded but only 10 mins away from Bear Lake. Campground was clean, even the vaulted toilets which is quite a feat. There was also plenty of fallen branches that we used for our fire. Would definitely recommend this site!

Please allow visitors to enjoy a campsite that is close to Bear Lake and nearby amenities while still providing an authentic outdoor experience that respects and preserves the natural habitat of local wildlife. The camp host was extremely informative and helpful, providing guidance on our campsite needs, sharing information about local activities and attractions, and educating us on the wildlife currently inhabiting the area. Their knowledge and hospitality greatly enhanced our camping experience.

Nice trees and shade throughout the campground. Road and parking need a little attention but otherwise very accessible. Camp host is well organized and keeps restrooms clean and well stocked. Campsites are very private.

From Logan, Utah, take Highway 89 east for 31 miles, then turn south onto FR102. Follow for .6 miles to campground. Sunrise is one mile west of Bear Lake Summit and 6 miles west of Garden City, Utah.

- This Campground is in Bear Country Always store food and trash securely to avoid attracting wildlife -Failure to comply may result in fines up to $5,000, removal from your campsite and/or imprisonment Remember, a fed bear is a dead bear; your actions can save lives
- This is a 'pack it in, pack it out' facility; bring trash bags
- Dogs or Domestic Pets Owners must -Control the dog by a leash not to exceed six feet (6’) at all times -Clean up dog feces immediately -Limit two dogs per campsite Do not allow dogs to -Rush, threaten, or attack people/animals -Obstruct or interfere with people, vehicles, or property -Cause damage to vegetation, habitat, or harass wildlife
- Gates open at 7am, Gates close at 10pm; No generators after 10pm; Camping is allowed only within the designated space provided. Do not go beyond the boundaries of your site; Max occupancy is 8 people per single site; Horses/Off-road vehicles are prohibited in the campground; Leave No Trace; Put all trash in dumpsters, when provided, or properly stored in your vehicle or bear box; Remove all personal property and trash when leaving; Unclean campsites will be reported to the District Ranger LEO; Cleaning fish, animals, or bathing where drinking water is supplied is strictly prohibited; Fireworks or other explosives are prohibited. Discharging of a firearm in the campground is not allowed; No fighting or boisterous behavior. Be courteous to your fellow visitor. Keep noise at a reasonable level; No amplified music is allowed in USDA Forest Service campgrounds and facilities; Max Vehicle Length includes tow vehicle
- There is a 2-night minimum stay on weekends; 3-night minimum stay on holiday weekends
- Trailers/Campers and RVs: Come with water tank filled. Hooking up to spigots or the power in the restrooms, even for medical devices is strictly prohibited
- First Come First Served (FF) sites For reservable sites, reservations must be made at least 5 days in advance You must claim a FF site in person on the day you wish to check-in A site listed as FF does not guarantee availability, Recreation.gov does not update FF occupancy The only way to know if an FF site is available is to arrive at the campground on the day you plan to check-in Availability cannot be predicted Many sites are in remote locations, we cannot contact camp hosts about availability Recommended arrival times vary by day. Weekends and holidays typically fill more quickly To claim an FF site, you must be present, occupy the site, and pay at that time There is no waiting list for FF sites
- Extra Vehicle -$10 per vehicle, per day (paid on-site cash/check) Firewood -$9
- If you booked at a discount without a Senior or Access pass, you'll need to pay the difference in cash/check upon arrival. Only Senior or Access passes qualify for discounts and proof of ownership upon arrival is required
- Cancellations within 24 hours prior to arrival date will forfeit the entire use fee and a $10 cancellation fee; No-shows, early departures, or cancellations after the arrival date are not entitled to a refund; If you do not arrive at the campsite by 12pm the day after scheduled arrival and does not cancel the reservation, will be charged a $20 service fee and forfeit the first-night use fee
