What Guests Are Saying

Campsite 1 is suitable for RV camping, though parking space is limited. Despite a rocky and bumpy access road, visitors enjoyed their stay, particularly at Campsite 4, which offers ample space around the fire pit and is conveniently located near a vault toilet. Overall, the area provides a pleasant camping experience.

This is a fun little campground and we had a great time using #3 and #4. It is very shady and great when it’s hot out.

It would be nice if pictures were posted that show what each site looks like since all we saw was a grassy looking field. This must have applied to the group site as our area did not have any grass. It was a bit muddy due to recent rain. The giant bolder and crude amphitheater in #3 made for fun entertainment for the kids as did the nearby creek which also was very shady and has a nice beach area just to the right of the entrance.

Outhouse - #3 was right across from the outhouse and we were pleasantly surprised that we could seldom smell it. This was likely helped by the shady area. The service schedule seemed erratic however and was only checked once every few days. With a large group using the group site over the weekend, the toilet paper was gone by the second day so it’s a good thing we brought our own.

Nearby activities: Richard’s Hollow trailhead was a short 50 feet from camp which offered fun activities for kids along the way like the stone throne about a mile in, beautiful wildflowers, a teepee and a bit further on and past the switchbacks a beautiful waterfall. The first part of the hike was hotter and more open but offered beautiful vistas of left hand fork canyon. We hiked and did have several dirt bikes passing our way. There are also some great climbing walls in the canyon.

Friendship campground was chosen to allow our group to gather for two day and two night in a mostly private setting of this out-of-the-way campground. We reserved the group area where the tables and fire pits were usable but not in the best of condition. The rest room was clean and usable but with a large group where everyone needed the restroom at the end of the day, one room was not enough to help everyone that needed it at once. Seperate Women/Men booths would have been very useful. We did enjoy the private setting for our extended family gathering. The lack of running water was disappointing which we knew about before hand so more effort to plan for water supplies was given than we found to be needed,
