Lost Creek Campground

Half the campground was washed out. Ours was the last site on the loop that was open, but the road was closed. We could not part our trailer and get it back out. We tried to tent it, but got rained out. I asked for a refund but was not given one.

I found out the morning of my arrival at lost creek site 27 on July 17 that my reservation was cancelled due to flooding damage. Here are the two issues I have:
1) upon inspecting the road “damage” on the 18th of July, I found only slight damage to the road. I could have easily drinen up to site 27. Parts of the road through the Lost Creek campground have been in terrible condition for the past 20 years!!! It is this neglect to maintenance that resulted in increased road damage which ruined my stay at this camp. Oh yeah, the camp sign on Hwy 150 says “Lost Lake Campground” and yet your website calls it the “Lost Creek Campground”. I have brought this to the attention of the Ranger Station personnel in Kamas, but they have ignored this feedback, just like they have ignored the roads maintenance!!
2) when I talked to whoever called me about the closure, I was told I could move to either the following campgrounds: Yellow pines, Shingle Creek and Coblerest.
I almost got stuck pulling my 38 ft fifth wheel through the Yellow pine CG! Although the website shows several sites over 96 ft, IT IS NOT MADE FOR 38 ft fifth wheels. Even the on site camp host agrees. The Coblerest CG is posted “no trailers over 25 ft”. So the only place I could go was at the Shingle creek CG. The camp host from Yellow pine cg was very polite and helpful.
My complaint is why I was told I could go the the yellow pine and Coblerest CG’s. This was very poor and misleading information!!!

Great Campground. Though being Next to the Highway it’s very quiet and serene. Clean bathrooms. Well maintained. The camp host was awesome! And the cherry on top had two Bull Moose come in and camp out with us! So you may even catch a glimpse of the locals 😉

So the access road to my campground got washed out camp host was nice enough to call and to explain what was going on said that some campgrounds lower in the canyon had set aside some spots for people that were displaced went to the three campgrounds that he recommended was not able to get the campsite they were all taken.

Well maintained bathrooms. Quiet and close to Lost Lake. Some hiking from the campground.

Great spot. Old but very clean outhouse.

Great campground overall. Green, lush, water close by. Also had a Moose visitor.

Clean and beautiful campground, trail to access Lake, and saw a moose in the campground every day.

Campsite 16 was good - room for a small trailer and a very nice tent spot tucked behind the trees. Besides the tent spot and small space around the fire, though, there's not much flat ground, so keep that in mind if booking this spot.

We had a great time at this campground. It was beautiful and quiet and the toilets were as clean as pit toilets can be. This was my favorite campground I have stayed at.
