Lost Creek Campground

Great Campground. Though being Next to the Highway it’s very quiet and serene. Clean bathrooms. Well maintained. The camp host was awesome! And the cherry on top had two Bull Moose come in and camp out with us! So you may even catch a glimpse of the locals 😉

I found out the morning of my arrival at lost creek site 27 on July 17 that my reservation was cancelled due to flooding damage. Here are the two issues I have:
1) upon inspecting the road “damage” on the 18th of July, I found only slight damage to the road. I could have easily drinen up to site 27. Parts of the road through the Lost Creek campground have been in terrible condition for the past 20 years!!! It is this neglect to maintenance that resulted in increased road damage which ruined my stay at this camp. Oh yeah, the camp sign on Hwy 150 says “Lost Lake Campground” and yet your website calls it the “Lost Creek Campground”. I have brought this to the attention of the Ranger Station personnel in Kamas, but they have ignored this feedback, just like they have ignored the roads maintenance!!
2) when I talked to whoever called me about the closure, I was told I could move to either the following campgrounds: Yellow pines, Shingle Creek and Coblerest.
I almost got stuck pulling my 38 ft fifth wheel through the Yellow pine CG! Although the website shows several sites over 96 ft, IT IS NOT MADE FOR 38 ft fifth wheels. Even the on site camp host agrees. The Coblerest CG is posted “no trailers over 25 ft”. So the only place I could go was at the Shingle creek CG. The camp host from Yellow pine cg was very polite and helpful.
My complaint is why I was told I could go the the yellow pine and Coblerest CG’s. This was very poor and misleading information!!!

Half the campground was washed out. Ours was the last site on the loop that was open, but the road was closed. We could not part our trailer and get it back out. We tried to tent it, but got rained out. I asked for a refund but was not given one.

Got an email saying the campsite was closed due to flooding. So plans were changed because of this. Later only to find out half way through the planned trip that it wasn't really closed and no refund was issued.

Overall very pretty area, had a decent time. There were a few of the campsites that were closed because the area was flooded but ours (12) was not closed. But I think maybe it should have been because our fire pit was about 1/3 filled with water when we got there. We spent close to an hour bailing it out and getting it as dry as possible, we were able to make a surprisingly good fire, and then after it had been going a while, we realized the pit had filled up with water again. We were still able to cook our food and hang out but it was just kind of frustrating. That very well could just be because of the flooding, but just wanted to note it in case it was a recurring issue with that particular fire pit.

Camp site was closed. And I didn’t get a refund as of this date.

Campground never gave notice that half the park was blocked to travel and no were to turn around. Sites are very tight in the lower half of the park and to upper half is closed. We had a camper across from us who ran his generator from 8 am to 9 pm every day, for 3 days. We probably will not return even if the campground is beautiful and the camp host was really nice.

We had a great time at Lost Creek. Our campsite was beautiful and the yurt was fun and spacious.
