Site was very clean. Camp host was the best that we have encountered in our travels. We will definitely be back.

The camp host was great. Seemed overworked and was covering multiple campgrounds. A lot of campgrounds along Mirror Lake Highway are getting rid of drinking water and trash bins to save money. I totally understand this but I hope it doesn't lead to poorly run campgrounds. Use that saved money to help the hosts out.
A number of Soapstone campsites are mixed up online compared to in-person. The pictures online are not listed under the correct number, the occupancy (single or double) are mixed up so people pay double for a single site and others pay single for a double site. So you reserve a site and it may not actually be the one you are getting.
Campsite #18 - incorrect map location shown online, photos correct, occupancy correct
Campsite #19 - incorrect map location shown online, photos are incorrect (shows campsite #20, the correct phots are found online under campsite #17), occupancy incorrect (listed as double but mixed up with #20 still), it is only a single site (normal size table, normal parking space).
Campsite #20 - incorrect map location shown online, photos are incorrect, occupancy is incorrect (listed as single but it has extra parking and extra long table that only comes with a double occupancy site).
We stay here every year and it is frustrating that this can't get fixed. Despite contacting them multiple times now. Other campers have been frustrated as they pay for a double site and then don't have enough room. Or they are expecting a certain campsite based on the photos (usually looking for a shadier campsite, room for trailer, or close to the river) and end up getting one completely different.

We really enjoyed our camp site at Soapstone. The Camp Host was very friendly, it was quiet, plenty of room in our camp site. We will definitely return!

I love this campground because there’s good space in between each of the campsites. The area is also fairly flat so it was easily accessible for my handicap sister. I love the streams in the Spring that run through the campground, but they were all dried up later in the summer. Beautiful place to stay.

Web site indicate space for 36’ RV in site 17. Way too short for even a small trailer and truck.

There are no garbage cans (you are supposed to pack out your garbage), the bathrooms are full of flies. There is no water.

Overall camping experience 6 out of 5. Bathroom experience -1 out of 5. The ammonia smell is unbearable. I thought, meh, it’s a pit toilet, it’s not supposed to be great. No. This is unbelievably smelly. Shockingly bad.
The site itself is beautiful, lots of space for multiple families. Fun areas for the kids to explore. We loved setting our chairs up in the river.
Considering bathrooms are a small part of my day, I’ve averaged that to a 4.

I couldn't believe there was a site still available for the weekend, what luck. It was clean, the groups around were respectful, and we had a total blast. The host was very nice too.
