Ken's Lake Campground

The campground was clean and attractive, about a 15-minute drive to town. The atmosphere is lovely, red rocks, a (man-made but still beautiful) stream & trails. Ken's lake is a gravel pit with questionable water so I wouldn't bother with that. We had considered staying at a variety of other places & I am glad we chose here. The price & atmosphere were the big positives. Look out for holes in the ground when putting down your tent. We hadn't realized these were lizard holes and unfortunately, we found a few squashed under our tent when we packed up to leave. We also noticed some people aren't paying attention to the reservation clipped to the post in front of the campsite. When we arrived our first day someone else was set up in our reserved spot & we had to track them down and ask them to pack up their stuff and move... kinda uncomfortable to deal with. We noticed this same situation happened to another camper too in the 3 days we were there so I'm guessing it may be a somewhat common occurrance. There is a camp host on site but it's a big place and only ran into him a couple times.

What a beautiful spot to call home for a night! We stayed here 2 nights while visiting Arches National Park - it was the perfect location and had a great view. We took a walk around our campground loop and to the lake, but that was about the extent of our experience with the campground itself. My husband used the restrooms and said they weren't bad. My only complaint was there was dog poop everywhere. While campers may have cleaned up after there pets on the gravel parts of their lots, they sure didn't clean up anything outside of those small boundaries. Overall I'd recommend this spot to others and would consider returning if we ever make it back out that way.

Good access to Arches and Canyonlands. Campground didn't have a water pump but it made up for it by it's proximity to town. So we just got our water there.

This campground is beautiful, and the sites are very spacious. When we drove through Moab and saw how many of the private RV sites were really packed together, we were really thankful for the site. Would stay there again if we make it back to Moab! Also, it was very easy to get water at Mavericks on the South side of Moab on the way to Ken's Lake, and then dump at Maverick's on the way home.
