What Guests Are Saying

The Lower Onion Creek Group Sites offers a fantastic location for accessing Fisher Towers and Onion Creek Road, providing a spacious and private environment near the Colorado River. The campsite features five picnic tables, a large shelter, and a concrete fire pit, although some loose trash was left behind by previous campers. There is confusion regarding the reservation fee, as the cost appears significantly higher than the posted nightly rate.

Great clean campsite. The newer sun shade structures are beautiful and functional. Far from the road so no noise, and great dark sky.

This group site that we had was great. All of the sites are far enough from each other that you have some privacy, and the site was very large.

Great site, restrooms are primitive, but well maintained. Nice campsites, quiet at night.

Group C is a great site with ample parking. Stone’s throw from the river and an expansive field for kids to roam around in.

This is a gorgeous campground. It's about 30 min from Moab but that means that it's not as crowded as the campgrounds closer in. The sites are well spaced. The group sites are especially nice.

Even in the crappy weather, this was still a great experience. Being able to move the picnic tables allowed us to set our tents up underneath the pavilion, helping us to stay dry.

the 2 things that would make LOC one of the jewel camp grounds in the system would be to but in more, lots more, speed reduction devices. Vehicles drive way to fast, and especially the big commercial rafting buses/oversized motor homes. The vehicle's excessive speed is dangerous to children/pedestrians and creates large amounts of dust. The other aspect is the lack of a minimal shade/weather cover over the tables in the individual sites.

The site itself is nice but the management seems non existent. They didn't have a calendar posted so another group naturally assumed the site was available and setup camp. Thankfully they were agreeable to vacate when we showed up with proof of purchase but they had also already paid which sucks for them. Could have been avoided if the Bureau of Land Management was attentive but they clearly aren't. You can't even get in contact with someone by calling in regards to the site and the answering machine is full.
