Warner Lake

Peaceful, beautiful setting.

The location is beautiful! The cabin was comfortable and well equipped. It had plenty of plates, utensils and cookware. There were even games, lanterns, and extra batteries.

While the campsite was both remote and beautiful they really should emphasize how nerve-wracking the drive up can be. 1 hour drive up a dirt road on the edge of a mountain with many sharp switchbacks. 4WD and 5/10mph and we were still skidding all over the place with no place to turn around if we needed to. Totally ruined the experience for us. We made it up just to wake up to our phone sounding alarms due to nearby wildfires and our tent, chairs, and car covered in ash. Camp host confirmed we weren't in a threatened area but considering the multiple "go" alarms, ash, and there's only a long one lane road up we decided to just drive down and stay in town. I'm sure if you're fearless this place is everything you want it to be but it definitely wasn't for us.

such a beautiful campground! our spot was super close to the bathrooms, and surrounded by beautiful aspens and visiting deer! the lake was gorgeous at sunset, and the nearby hiking trails were so much fun to explore. the drive to and from the campground was a bit nerve-wracking, but very worth it. Make sure you have good breaks!

Clean toilets, awesome camp host, and not crowded even on July 4th!

A true gem. Skipped the heat in Moab. Excellent group site. Deer in the area. No running water but doable. Super clean vault bathrooms.

What a special place. We were on a long road trip with our camper and were looking for a place to cool down for a night or two. I could have stayed a month. This is a beautiful camp in the aspens with the breeze blowing through. Our kids floated in their innner tubes on the lake. It was a prefect afternoon /evening. The camp is quiet, clean, and remote.

Warner Lake was a phenomenal experience for me and my son. The drive up was a little scary with 5 miles of dirt road to navigate. Once there, it was a beautiful campground with lots of deer and a serene setting. A definite to go back.

The drive is a bit of a white knuckle adventure with steep drops and no guard rails, but well worth the trip. Beautiful aspen grove by the lake. Saw many deer and a fox in the campground as well as a bugling elk. Campground was crowded but sites are far enough apart with lots of trees. Hard to believe it was that close to Moab.

The information did not say it was a narrow road not suitable for a truck pulling a camper. I wish we would have known how narrow the road was and how high we would be going up the mountain. Looked on maps and could not find Warner Lake. We had no idea we would be on such a narrow road. Don’t know if the other road had been open, if the road would have been better.
