San Rafael Swinging Bridge Campground

Great well maintained site. I wish I could have applied my senior discount when using the mobile payment method. The ability to do that was not visible when paying.

This spot is epic. Get the north campground if you can. It's small, but it has trees and shade. Can't vouch for that in summer, we did nearly spring.

The views are incredible. There is so much to do on the north swell if you have an off road vehicle. Short drive to the wedge overlook, long rough drive to black dragon canyon. The vista is phenomenal though.

Not for groups. I'd much rather have a spot up on the wedge for multiple large rigs. Just don't try to do that past site four.

We love the equestrian sites for our horses! They are clean and the corrals are amazing!
The bathrooms are incredibly clean. The air fresheners in them almost make you feel guilty about using them. The employees taking care of these sites should be commended for their efforts. Paying with the app was seamless. My only criticism is the ridiculously tall fire pits. It’s close to impossible to get warmed by the fire in them unless you’re standing right next to them. Lowering them into the ground by at least 12” would help with this. I get that it’s near impossible to have children fall into them, but it’s also hard to build the fire big enough to feel the heat.

Beautiful site deep within the San Rafael Swell. There are a number of other sites further up the Buckhorn Wash road which might be free if the main campground is full.
